Reloading Cases Fired in H&K Style Rifles

I had an H&K for a while, and had no problem reloading the brass. Mostly, its just cosmetic. Keep a close eye on case length, trim to length as needed: This style chamber has some built-in slop.:scrutiny: Tom

Any plans for May 1 "Day without an immigrant?"

I have jury duty...:cuss: Guess that'll give me a chance to pee in SOMEONES' wheaties, like the county's:evil: Tom

    removing heavy leading from redhawk

Get a copper pot scrubber. "Chore boy/girl" Snip out a strand, wrap it around a used bore brush, dip in solvent & scrub carefully. Works better than the LLR ever did...:D Tom

    Case neck measuring

To measure neck walls, the easiest, cheapest, and best way I know is to measure a bullet, seat it, then measure the case neck. Subtract the bullet diameter and divide by 2. This presumes you have a decent caliper or micrometer available...:scrutiny: Tom

Half Ghost Ring Sights for a Glock

Uh, half ghost ring? Wouldn't that be a buckhorn...? Would the half have the same "draw your eye to the center" effect the full ring does? Tom

    Scopes for Varmints

On my latest rifle, purchased specifically for 'Ol Wiley, I installed a Bushnell Elite 4-16X40. <$350, and I prefer it to Leupolds. The rifle is a CZ 527 in .17 Remington. I have 4-16s on a lot of my varmint guns, guess I like that range. Clean kills or clean misses! Tom

So I want to be a gunsmith...

I'd bet they still have a need for machine shops in old Blighty. Sign up for a course of training in machine tools:Lathes, milling machines, surfacers, etc.,etc. The very best gunsmiths I know are also master machinists...:D Tom

    Dead Set Seating Variance?

Well, it could be the bullets... I'd be more inclined to suspect your equipment. I've had poor luck with Lee seaters. While Lee makes a lot of good products, many are designed much better than they are made.:uhoh: You say you're relatively new to this, so do the best you can while you're...

? Most effective, least time involved primer pocket cleaning?

I don't bother with handgun brass. With rifle, I use the Sinclair tool that I use to mill the primer pocket to depth. I use an RCBS tool to deburr the flash holes, "coning" the inside, and breaking the 90*edge on the outside. Accuracy is a process of things working together, not a...

.45 Colt Loads? (not ruger only, but not light)

Proceed with due caution: My 25-5 likes this. Do work up, its right on the bottom of Ruger & TC... 13.0 grn of Blue Dot, WW LP, Home cast 250 grn WFN, molyplated, Lyman's moly bullet lube. Around 950 fps from my 4". YMMV!:D Tom

    Edjimucate me on casting bullets.

Well, I'm no fan of Lee products in general... Their Bullet casting equipment is pretty damn good, IMHO:D Pick a furnace, bottom pour is best. Their molds run from the 2-cavity with handles included to the 6-holer gang mold with handles extra. I like aluminum molds, personally. You can...

Target cartridges, bullet seating in neck?

A goodly number of handloaders like the bullet close to or into the lands by a few thou for accuracy...:D Tom

Bore Polishing and Throat Maint. Bullets?

Tubb's rep is awesome. I have not used his product. I have, however, blasted grit down some rifle & handgun bores and will not do it again to any firearm I value even slightly.:scrutiny: If its that bad, the money is better spent on a new barrel, IMHO.:D Tom
