Yeah, seems high to me also, but then the Henry 30-30 is retailing at $900. Is the addition of nostalgia to the manufacturing process really that expensive?
I love everything about my 6906 except the trigger. The single action pull has a looong take up, a small hitch, then a mushy wall before the break. If I could clean that up it'd be in my carry rotation.
I'm happy enough with my FA. Not perfect, but I don't expect any priming tool is. I had to send the first one back due to feed issues and the inability to control seating depth, but the replacement has been solid with just a few hiccups every now and then. I'd buy it again, fwiw.
That old saw has never really resonated with me. In my limited experience, the old man with one gun keeps it wrapped in an old towel. It's buried in a drawer somewhere and it'll eventually end up in an estate sale or handed down to a relative.
I'm very confident that you went in eyes-wide-open. My perspective is different in that I'm ok with the triggers in my striker-fired pistols, so it doesn't feel like a compromise to carry them. Cheers.
