concerned about holster wear on Nickel Finish pistol?

Hard chrome is more wear resistant than nickel, but nickel is a very hard and durable finish in it's own right. But it, like any, will show wear over time depending on its use.

    Your "Dream" Carry Gun

I've got a few "dream carry guns". This is one of the faves... customized Colt LW Commander, by EGW, with steel feedramp insert, Novak night sights, Ed Brown grip safety, yada yada... oh, and the best part, Ed Brown bobtail mod. Frame refinished in electroless nickel. A dream to carry and to...

M&P Compact pic and opinion request...

I have an M&P 40 Compact and had a lot of problems with the mags dropping. After a lot of time and numerous attempts to correct the problem, S&W finally gave me a new frame and I installed a heavier mag catch spring. Looks like the problem is finally solved. As for the gun... I like it and...

Is there a reason not to buy a Beretta

DA/SA triggers SUCK. Give me a consistent, short trigger pull for the first and every shot. I won't own another gun with a DA/SA-trigger ever again.

Double stack 45's.. what are my options?

After one of my favorite 1911 pistolsmiths bought one, i decided to add one to my collection... a Springfield GI hi-cap. Something great about a 1911 with 14-round capacity! I added MecGar nickel plated 13-round mags with Wolff xtra-power mag springs. The gun has been stone reliable... and...

What are some good "Sleeper" Semiautos?

Springfield's 1911 Hi-Cap model is a total sleeper... but a great gun. I've swapped out the upper for the upper from an older Kimber Stainless I wasn't shooting which really made this hi-cap what it needed to be. 14 rounds before a reload. Stone reliable. Super accurate. I love it...

    My Frankenpistol... a "Kimfield" Custom 1911 Hi-Cap

I hadn't pulled the old Kimber Stainless out of the safe in years, but I had been shooting my Springfield GI Hi-Cap a lot. But the SA Hi-Cap being a GI version badly needed some useable sights, a lowered/flared port, and a little better accuracy too so, voila, I pull the Kimber from the safe...
