I hadn't pulled the old Kimber Stainless out of the safe in years, but I had been shooting my Springfield GI Hi-Cap a lot. But the SA Hi-Cap being a GI version badly needed some useable sights, a lowered/flared port, and a little better accuracy too so, voila, I pull the Kimber from the safe, remove the slide from it and put it on the SA GI Hi-Cap frame. Instant upgrade all the way around.

With the Kimber upper I now have sights I can see and use well, much better accuracy than I had before, the slide now locks back on an empty mag, cases are ejected cleanly and consistently, and reliability is flawless. I love what this has done to improve my GI Hi-cap! 14 rounds of .45 acp on tap before a reload. Gotta love that. I'm using MecGar nickle plated 13-round mags with Wolff Xtrapower mag springs. Now I need to decide what to do with the left over Kimber frame and Springfield GI upper... hmmmmmm...

Reminds me of a BUL M5.

Not a bad idea.

What did you do with the spare parts? They'd be fun to tinker with...

I'm jealous...

You have a lot of good parts there.

Not to mention a good shooter.

Wish I had something worthwhile to offer in trade.
