Hello all!
I'm prior military (USMC) and currently live in NC.

Bought my first personal gun in 2013 and the collection has grown exponentially since then.
Am now up to 32 different guns and am badly in need of another safe >.<

Joining this forum at the subtle prodding of my father (some of you may know him as flashhole).

I think my next venture will be learning about reloading.

New here,
Not new to guns or reloading. Been loading 22-250 for 35-40 yrs. Two yrs 9 mm. Live in Missouri now, moved here in '13 from the socialist state of NY. Retired from service dept. of a company that owned 80 McDonalds.

Just found this site the other day after checking into Missouri Bullet Company. I live in Grain Valley, MO so it was easy for me to go out and grab a sample pack of the 230 grain Hi-Tek grooveless softballs. I'll try them out over the next week or so. I carry and XDs but like to shoot a 1911 that an old friend built back in the 90s. I loaded some Berry's 200 grain hollow base flat points that function perfectly in the XDs but not at all in the 1911. I will pay more attention to the 1911 this time. It hasn't been picky before. I will say that the folks at MBC were awesome today.

Hi guys! I'm new here. Don't really have a collection, but have had quite a few different ones over the years. I appreciate all types, not too set on one over the other, but I am a practicality kinda of guy over a "just have to have it" kind.

Their HiTek 230s are my standard target load. Great bullets at a fair price, very little leading. Welcome to you!

Good afternoon, I am mpw and am new to the site, live in the Front Range of Colorado, and have several rifles including a Hawken .50 cal and handguns including an 1851 Navy Arms .44 and 1847 Walker Colt .44 (both by Uberti). I am learning how to make Black Powder and have found that it can easily be refined to ff3 (fairly easy) and further out to ff4 (more difficult). When I take the Walker out for exercise, I carry it in a holster on a belt that hangs over my shoulder and hangs in a cross-draw position for a right hand draw.

My name is Steve W., and I'm in SW Oregon. My passion is long range handgun competition, and I am a life member of IHMSA (www.ihmsa.org if you're interested) and a Patron NRA member.

I've been involved in IHMSA competition for over 20 years and was the editor if its newspaper for several years.

In addition, I am a freelance outdoor writer & photographer focusing on handguns.

I found this forum accidentally and look forward to seeing what goes on here.

Howdy 19Turkeys. Welcome! I'm kind of new here myself.
We used to be heavily involved in IHMSA (mostly my wife) back when Elgin Gates headed it up. Back then, kids, work and other responsibilities kind of got in the way after a while. But we still love to watch long range silhouette matches - even though my wife and I are both too old to take the poundings handed out by the powerful handgun loads necessary for tipping over 200 meter steel rams.
Good luck with your writing and photography. I read a lot. Maybe I've seen some of the stuff you've written?

Hi, Long time snooper hear, so i thought I should sign up.

This sight has answered a lot of questions i had in the past.

I am a hunter, reloader and enjoy shooting

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting here. I joined through Tapatalk some time back but I never could seem to post properly so I gave up but I have read many threads on here in doing searches for information and just general curiosity about different things. I have read and looked at many different gun forums but have always felt that The High Road stood head and shoulders above the rest in regards to general and overall firearms discussions and subjects. I got a new Chromebook for Christmas so I decided to become part of the group rather than a lurker from my iPhone.

I am a Cowboy Action Shooter and a SASS member. My SASS alias is Pat Riot. I couldn't use that name here so I chose TomBass as my first name is Tom and I used to be an avid Bass fisherman. Not so much anymore.
My other passions in regards to shooting are Smith & Wesson revolvers and rifles, mostly CAS rifles and hunting rifles as well as reloading. I also plan to try and take up Trap, Skeet and Clays shooting in the Spring. We'll see how that works out as currently I am a terrible shotgunner unless the target is stationary...Haha

You all have a fantastic forum and I am happy to finally be able to join in and participate.

Thank you,
TomBass

Hello from North Florida!
Civillian
Inherited my grandfather's collection and have greatly expanded his collection. I've always had a soft spot for bolt actions (Enfields and Krags being my favorites)
Just competed in my first CMP match and plan on doing more!

Howdy from the Kansas prairie! I have too many hobbies that got pushed aside to go hunting the past few years. The collection will probably grow from my entry level Rem 870 and 783. Out for turkey and tail this year. Looking for a waterfowl mentor this coming fall near KC or Topeka.
Backcountry backpacker, my wife and I drag the kids up and down mountains all over the States. Trying to teach them what my parents failed to teach me - outdoor skills.
Thanks to all who answered my many searches and questions.

Hi Im Steve and Im a gun aholic.
Im from Ky, into all kinds of guns and was lead to the high road by my desire to save money on shooting, have better accuracy than factory ammo, and to not lose a very fond memory from my past of reloading with my grandpa. Ive not saved money on it since like most people, I just shoot more.
Im a longtime hunter and have hunted all kinds of small game with 22s and shotgun since I was tall enough to hold a long gun. I also bow hunted from about 12 years old but took up rifle hunting in the last few years as my precious hunting time has dwindled to almost nothing. When you dont have many days in the field, you tend to maximize the chances of putting meat in the freezer.
Well, thats me. Very happy to be here and I hope to become a more knowledgeable and helpful member of the high road...GO CATS

Howdy from Kansas City, Ks.
My name is Stan and I'm a retired police officer.
I enjoy handguns and Marlin lever actions.
I've lurked on this site for quite a while and thought I would join to expand my envelope!

IMG_20151207_211825_resized_1.jpg Greetings to fellow members and admin. Mostly I am here for "re-education", as a person who was introduced to shooting/hunting/self-protection as an adolescent, it was a way for my father to connect with me. After raising 4 kids and going through all of the associated fallout, I am returning to my roots. I voluntarily gave up most of my rightful firearm inheritance to stifle the squabbling of my siblings, (none of whom showed any interest in firearms whatsoever for the last 50 or so years), so I am *almost* starting over. I have a keen interest in military weaponry, self defense firearms, black powder, and I would love to become involved in reloading. After my experience with settling my folks "inheritance", I am definitely not here to argue with anyone about anything; not enough time left for that; and, I've already learned to keep my mouth shut about WD-40!

When I was 12 years old, my dad used to walk around the house on weekend evenings wearing his holstered Walker 44 when my older sister was out on dates; "sending a message", he called it. My grandfather open-carried the Iver Johnson 32 while working for the railroad.

New member here from Florida. Just got back into guns after making the mistake of selling mine a few years ago. I just put 2 AR rifles and a Sig on layaway. I can't wait!

Welcome to all the new members. Hope you participate and spread the word around about what a civilized place THR is. THR is the finest firearm site on the net. Lots to learn and talk about.

Hi all. I've on this forum for a few years but hardly ever get on it until now. I've developed a serious interest in antique weapons but mainly wanting to focus on New Zealand Defence for rifles, especially Enfields.
