Anyone else find inarticulated opinions frustrating? (aka "beware the old guy lurking at the LGS")

You must remember that most Gun Experts are self imposed , or elected by the uninformed.
I have met the gun expert that only owned a few guns and had fired only a hand full of different guns.
Many know everything about guns they have never fired. Most are not humble and will never admit that they are wrong or ever have been.
Now, I'm no gun expert, but I do own over 400 guns, and have shot most of them. I do get to shoot a lot of guns in my line of work. In the last ten months I have fired over 1000 different guns. But I'm no expert by far.
When it comes to these so-called experts, look at them this way. They are like liberals. They base their opinions on misinformation and emotions. Most often they have no facts to backup what they think is right, and refuse to listen to any facts that contradict their beliefs.
Never argue with one of them, because it's like arguing with a woman. No offenses towards woman.;)

I got to talkin the other day with an opinionated gent at the ol' LGS. And I learned things! Watching him handle pistols, and listening to his take on the "how and why" of things really made me realize how unrefined my techniques are, and that I don't practice nearly enough. I felt like a dang newb seeing how fluent he was (Every couple of weeks I go shooting, but mostly my practice consists of seeing a chipmunk in the wood pile, draw and fire while running to cover, then from cover, wait for him to poke his nose out again.... It makes fire mitigation work exciting)

After hearing his unsolicited opinions...I'm actually thinking of doing some IDPA to add some pressure to my practice.

It pays to listen to those who want to share what they think. I know how to sort the wheat from the chaff without getting annoyed by it.

Gunny they're annoying.
Worse though are the experts who have never picked up a gun.

At the college that I used to work at they have a professor out lobbying against the 2nd Amendment. She was in the building when my classroom was shot up, but on the other side of it. Her fear and big mouth along with her flaming left wing views got her a year offf paid to lecture on her experience. I who was almost killed, and who supported changing the law to allow conceal carry holders carry on campus didn't get my contract renewed.

Another one, flamed me about the "gun show loophole" and online purchases. When asked if they'd been to a gun show or purchased a gun online they said no. But "I know" was the repeated response. Of course these loons are the ones that voted for Tim Kaine and Terry McAwful. They'll vote for the other left wing idiots who want an AR ban, 10 round limit and one gun a month purchase limits. While folks like me and you will have to fight them and their ignorance.

So while the gun enthusiast who is ignorant is annoying, I'd rather deal with them than the "people" I've cited who want our hobbies outlawed.

We certainly are a "nation divided" as far as gun laws and feelings & opinions.
Also, reason vs. feelings & opinions.
Did I mention "feelings & opinions".

Everyone has the right to have their own feelings & opinions.
And, I do too !

Hey! Look at me! The law abiding person, wanting to protect himself, family, and any threatened person.
I'm also trying to protect you, unless you are a perp.

I enjoy shooting. I enjoy reloading. I enjoy reading a handful of gun mags. I actually enjoy disassembly and cleaning of guns as well. I enjoy all things related to responsible gun ownership. I could never, in a million years, work at a gun shop and have to listen to all the knucklehead nonsense that seems to always linger around the gun counter.

Thank you gun shop workers for all that you do. Better men than I.
