Looks like they’re pushing hard to up membership.
I know there are a lot of folks unhappy with the bumpstock position.

I’m not happy we had such bad losses in VA in the last election. But given the options I think supporting the NRA and pushing them back into the right direction is better than the alternative. So I recommend people take advantage of this so they can vote and help us get the NRA where they should be.

You can't vote unless you have been annual member 5 years without a break in service. One day lapse and you go back to day 0. This is a deal, never worry about not having a voice.

Did my life membership for $300, signed up probably 50 others at that dollar amount as well. Unfortunately, the minority of pro 2A people carry the weight of the others. Sign up for the annual or make payments. I also get tired of people bitching they'll contact you (which you can easily opt out of) as a valid reason as to why they refuse to join the NRA.

For the last two years they have had specials for $500.00. My Dad got me a junior membership in 1957 and I don't know when I got a regular but I signed up for a 5 year payment plan in 1967 and paid it off in 1972 and became Life Member then. It was 100.00 in those days and new cars could be had for $3500.00 ! ! ! ! ! In 75 I paid $5600.00 for a new F250 pickup and drove it until 2010. It got hard to get parts for so I sold it. My buddies Dad paid $20.00 in 1936.

Just know that NRA Life Membership does not mean they stop asking you for dues. There are at least two higher levels of "Life Membership" that NRA will continue to ask you to upgrade to... for even more money.

How do you do that?

From NRA Member Services website:
Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email us at [email protected] or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

It didn't work. At least in my case. I emailed and I have called them TWICE now. Both times I called, I asked "them" to tell me what my membership status was. Life member!
I still get membership apps. I just got one yesterday!:cuss: I give up.

Just simply call them again and tell them you are recording the call, and writing it down. And are willing to contact USPS for harassment charges. Usually they will say something like, it will take (__) days to get into the system, at which point I say ''that's not my new problem.'' Boom.

Also FYI if any unsolicited mail comes to you and has a return address, you can leave it unopened and write across an open portion of the letter face, ''REFUSED'' . That mail will be returned to the sender at their expense.

When I got out of high school in 1965 my family got me a life membership as a grad award. I do not remember the cost then but we got our moneys worth.

I did the Life Member installment payment plan many years back, after having been a annual member and a 5 year member for years prior. The "Patriot Life Endowment Member" deal came in the mail a year or so back and I took the plunge for an additional $300.00. The NRA may not be perfect but we are huge and the most powerful gun safety/rights group period. I'll add this, the nra's ILA will be getting most all of my future donations. FWIW GOA is another good gun owner/human rights group as is JPFO.
