Best 22lr?

CCI is my favorite flavor, both minimags and standard velocity. I find it is most consistent shooter and holds tightest groups in my .22 rifles, albeit I don’t hunt much anymore.

I’m sure target ammo is better, but I can put 10 rounds inside 3 inches at 100 yards with a stock 10-22...good enough for my plinking needs

CCI Minimags is my "go to" hunting ammo for my 10-22. But that's only because Winchester Power-Points don't feed smoothly in my 10-22 - they feed, just not real smooth. On the other hand, Winchester Power-Points is my "go to" hunting ammo for my Kimber .22 bolt, and all of my wife's and my .22 revolvers. I think Winchester Power-Points just "kill better," and they're really accurate.

I've always liked Remington Yellow Jacket HP's...., but...., I bought two 500 round bricks years ago and I think I have like 700 rounds left. It may simply be that I'm frugal. They kills squirrels and rabbits.

I've always used cci stingers when hunting with a .22. Not sure if they're the "best", but never had a reason to use anything else. W-SPE-0050-CASE_alt1.jpeg

For squirrels shot with my Remington 541S, I prefer Winchester T-22 or CCI SV. They are equally accurate. I've killed 100s of prairie dogs with the T-22. Ran out of the T-22 so changed to CCI SV and found it to be about the same. I shoot Norma Tac 22 in my Mauser 201 with same accuracy as the 541S. I can also get along well with Federal Gold Match HV, but have to reset the scope as it is high velocity.

Winchester Subs, Winchester 555, Winchester Laser, Winchester Super-X and Aguila Super-Extra (because it's the cheapest ammo available here) for me. Pigs and goats get brain shot with the noisy ones, possums, cats, rabbits and birds get the sneaky stuff.

Most of the supersonic ammo will generally go transonic before 120 yards (The stingers at about 140 and the Copper-22 at 180) which can create instability. The difference in POI at 200 yards between the Aguilas and Stingers is 23" And the FPE is nearly 78ft-lb which is pretty significant.

I got into squirrel hunting pretty bad last year and got a new rifle and scope and tried several brands and both that rifle and my other savage mark II like cci standard the best with a ragged hole at 50yards. Cci segmented was a close second. Aguilar super extra shoots well but cracks too loud for me.

If primarily for hunting I like CCI MiniMags.

If primarily for target shooting I like Wolf Match Target and CCI Standard Velocity.

Have never hunted with BB rounds

CCI Mini mags are great and I also really like Winchester 40 gr power points. The power points will NOT feed through all semi autos though so be careful.

Not sure what " bebe 22 let" that the OP asks about is. If talking about bb caps they are useless beyond 10 or 15 feet. Not dependable at that range.

Super X was my "go to" years ago.
But it doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be.

Blazer is my reg ammo these days.
Does better than the Minimags in my rigs.

Do have a couple bricks of Australian Winchester 42gr Max stashed.

It totally depends on what shoots best in your rifle. CCI standard velocity will produce 1 hole for 10 shots off the bench at 25 yards from my Ruger 10/22. Eley Ten X will, too, but CCI standard velocity is one HELL of a lot cheaper and available everywhere.

I've never found CCI Stinger to shoot worth a toot in anything I own and it won't even fit in the match chamber of my TC Contender 10" match barrel, so I don't keep it around. Every .22 has its favorite fodder and I keep several flavors around to feed the handguns and rifles that prefer them.

My favorite 22 rifle is a Browning SA22 . It likes CCI mini mag HP. However back in the ammo shortage I bought thousands of rounds of RN ammo(all I could get). I bought a Wentz die to hollow point my RN ammo surplus. I have shot a couple of thousand rds of my home made HP at nutria and that has worked out good. I Hollow Pointed Blazer and Mini mag RN. both shot very accurately and functioned well in my auto.
