Would love to read the entire article, if its available online anywhere.

Hmmmm, an article written from the wisdom of a man most likely in his 40's who may have, 20 something years prior, participated in liberating a country that had been gradually disarmed and possibly he sees the writing on the wall as to what could happen.

And now the mainstream media will simply write that off as the tinfoil hat crowd.

It appears as though unfortunately the prediction is playing out.
Just as I too predicted it would when I first read the article - in 1969! Heck, for that matter, my dad also predicted what was coming, and stocked up on ammo for his beloved 308 Winchester.
In April 1969, I was 21 and headed for a strange, faraway land later on that year. But I'd been predicting and arguing against encroachment on our rights for a couple of years even before GCA '68. And I've been arguing against encroachment on our rights ever since. I'm tired, and the fact is, I'm kinda glad I probably won't be around to see the antis finally get everything they wanted from the start.

Sad, but true there .308 Norma. Probably like every generation, we fear what our children and grandchildren will have to face. I recall as a kid my Dad ranting and raving about the Gun Control Act. He had a poster from "Biss Repair Shop" in Virginia, Mn.IIRC that said "From my cold dead -hands", if you get my drift........
Currently I am worried what is now happening in Minnesota with the Blomberg backed Democrats trying to push through bills that would include red flag laws and such.
I fear that we may be facing laws that are a catch 22 to our rights.
What to do? I am so upset that I feel that I am echoing my Dad.........

I remember how we could buy practically any gun up to anti-tank calibers via US postal mail order. Or anyone could be rifle or handgun at Sears, Penny’s, hardware stores, etc. and there was no where near the level of violence as today. I’ve read several places that claim Senator Dodd of Connecticut requested a translated copy of Hitlers gun control laws and the ‘68 GCA has much of the same in it, including similar verbiage (as translated).

The Honorable Justice Joseph Story, in his Commentaries on the Constitution identified the risk presented to the 2nd Amendment in the earliest days of the Republic.

"There is certainly no small danger, that indifference may lead to disgust, and disgust to contempt; and thus gradually undermine all the protection intended by this clause of our national bill of rights"

The above is one reason I repeatedly press my elected Representatives to require the firearms safety training, and marksmanship training to a demonstrated standard equivalent to the U.S. Military's requirements at the Middle School and High School levels as a condition of an educational institution receiving ANY Federal tax monies for ANY program. It is why I also advocate for essentially all graduates to be able to pass the U.S. citizenship test, to receive ANY Federal tax monies for ANY program.

My solution for the Leftist parents is simple. If little Johnny or Suzie is an "objector" and can't be trained. They get drafted first in a call up...
