No, don't do that. Get a 10mmAuto, they burn more powder. :D

Very sound advice on many levels.

Also.... Have you ever made (or invented) a purchasing decision based on the fact that you could reload for "that"?

"I could save a fortune reloading for that compared to factory ammo...."

Somebody gave me 700 rounds of M1 Carbine in a swap for a tin of 7.62x54r. He is a cop that a widow wanted him to dispose of the ammo, since some was reloaded and the Auction wouldn't take the ammo. He asked if I could use it, I said "sure."

Then I bought an Auto Ordinance M1 Carbine, then a GI, then I wanted more brass, so I bought more brass...to put it mildly, the 8 lbs of 4227 I bought are all gone, and I had to buy more.

I am eagerly awaiting the opening of the new range that will be 10 minutes from my house. I have a lot of 38 loaded and stacking up the 45, all in anticipation of hitting the range once or twice a week. Yeah, I can't shoot the smoke pole in there, but it will be so close that I will become a much better pistol shot.

Brewer how lucky are You?
I have only 1 reasonable place.
Love the range I go to has it all but it's 50 min away and $23.00 to get in but you do get a free paper target. It's worth the $23.00 entry and $30.00 in gas yes in Califorina gas is over $4.00 a gal so $53.00 plus reloads and targets.
All in all not a bad cost for a days entertainment in the most costly area in the country.

I never thought of saving the powder labels. I could have started wallpapering the basement! I can still start though...You have a nice bench.

Rodentman
Thank you!!
The labels are on a rolling cannot that fits under my shelving and my bench is mounted to the wall.
Only down side I have a 47 inch tv mounted middle of the bench and with 3 presses not obstructing the t.v. lil cramp

Good stash. Our reloading room is a literal store practically. This is just partial of the powders that can be used for 9MM. Hard to fit 40+ in the picture and still read the labels f12cb204-8451-41fa-98d4-4d48a4cdef27.jpg

Hey! Now I know I'm not alone. I have at least 35 different pistol powders in my stash. I've got 12 lbs of Ramshot Competition, 8 lbs Sport Pistol, 12 lbs of WST, 4 lbs of IMR Red, those are the JUGS. I've got lots of powders that I have a couple of lbs of, some of them I have multiple 1 lb jugs.

Isn’t shooting just a means to make more empty brass to reload?

Well, to me, that's 1/2 the fun.
I enjoy reloading, but I also really enjoy ridding the world of those dastardly evil items ...
Like paper plates, tin cans, splatter targets, tannerite, empty laundry detergent bottles ...
Oh, oh, oh, almost forgot ... full, but cheap, 2 liter bottles of soda pop.
Love it when they go spinning in mid air.   :what:

So, um, nobody pays attention to the fire code?
I have a few open containers out, and the remainder in magazines as recommended by NFPA.

Remember, NFPA is generally only binding on business activity (including residential construction), not residential use.

Where’s the rest of it? Primers? Projectiles? 22lr stash? Boxes of AR parts? Targets? Brass?

Need to see it all for a proper diagnosis. Never mind. You’re hooked. This is a bug you don’t get over.

I heard that there's a support group for Reloaders.
Oh, wait, that's THR and that other cast boolit site...
Keep swimming, the water's fine. We're all a little mad here, but it sure does help!

I have some powder here, some at a buddy's house. I tend to buy more of the Jugs than the 1#s though. Even then, an 8# jug of rifle powder doesn't go far at all.
But seeing your collection of labels makes me realize, I'm way behind! I've only gone through a little over 44 pounds.

As to your "friend" that is worried about you being on the no-fly list -- yet, loves to shoot YOUR ammo. Maybe he should learn what it's about before making a comment on "how dangerous" you might be. You know, it's because of folks like him that I never mention how many firearms I own, or how much ammo is in the man-cave. Never mind the reloading components.

You guys are Awesome !!!!!!!
I thought I was sick and need help!!
We're all sick and need help..
As my tag line reads ...
I used to reload so I could shoot more.
Now I shoot more so I can reload more.
I think that says it all.
And don't put your primers in a glass jar. RIP!! we are carrying on!!

My son and I recently built a strong shelf to hold bullets...

Not only to I shoot in order to reload, but I have bought firearms just so I could reload for that caliber, such as 5.7x28 and .22 TCM.
