Bought this one 11 years ago when they were being imported just kept it as it came cosmoline in the inside some, in the box. The seller had said it was unissued although it does some have some small handling marks and the bolt face shows it being shot some. But the bore is shiny new. Not as pretty as my M48 but a nice example of a 24/47.

So I finally cleaned it up made it shooting ready, but I'm gonna wait till after summer to try it out just freaking crazy hot outside 95 plus degrees.

Came with all the accessories, bayonet, sling, ammo pouch. I 'll try cleaning the leather sling see how it comes out otherwise I won't bother putting it on.

Thought I'd share some pics, anyhow.

I never grow weary of pics of nice Mauser's ;)

lol don't get me started I'll unleash the contract and Persian Mauser's on ya.

With the heat outside lately I had put this Yugo in a black garbage bag outside for two days during the day trying to sweat out some of the packing grease, it helped some.

My Yugo 48A shot about 6" high at 100 yards with the lowest setting on the leaf sight. Supposedly fairly normal for guns designed for longer ranges.

Yours looks very nice and so solid compared to any of the plastic guns. Such character. Maybe you guessed that ARs do little for me (traded mine).

I bought a VZ24 front sight blade (a little bit taller than the 24/47 blade) to bring mine down to point of aim. That was about 15 years ago though. I see eBay has all sorts of taller blades for the 98-pattern rifles though.

NuclearMeltdown:
If I had known that taller sight blades were available about three years ago, I probably would have kept my Yugo 48A.

The 2,700 rds. of surplus 8mm Mauser ammo sold quickly on Armslist (listed at 25% below current market, as always with surplus ammo).

Strange, all my Mauser I can get to shoot center at 100 yds with original sights except my Portuguese Mauser that does shoot high and as seen my Yugo which is only slightly high I have never had a need for a tall replacement sight, maybe because I use a 6 o' clock hold on the target?
