I just bought a Marlin 336 CS that looks unfired. I do not like the Weaver see through rings or the Tasco scope but liked the gun. I do not think the $525 price tag was too bad. It still has the tag on forearm by who test fired it at the factory.

Very nice. Photos? :)

I tried those see through rings with a 4 power Tasco scope on my Marlin 336 probably 25 years ago. I think the rings and the scope were a package deal. I sighted the scope in and did some shooting with the rifle to get better acquainted. Took it hunting and on the first morning of the hunt I knocked my rifle over as it leaned against a tree. The reticle in the scope broke. :fire: I disposed of the scope and replaced it with a Simmons. The Simmons never held zero. It did make a decent pistol target challenge. I recycled the rings.

Enjoy that wonderful lever gun.
