The CZ 75B was my choice. I got the matte stainless finish. I have to admit I'm a sucker for stainless guns, I own three of them. I have to also IMG_20191111_154639208.jpg admit I didn't look at the Beretta. I just had the CZ set in my head. I will probably buy a Beretta in the future, it is a fine looking pistol with a good reputation.

I didn't vote, I like both guns. The big question here is;

How big are your hands?

I have larger hands, so naturally I like the 92.

But if you have smaller hands, the CZ is also a great gun. Try them both. Which fits in your hand better ?

Thank you everyone so far for your input and great gun pics !
To answer some questions. My$650 ish funds are pretty firm per the wife ☹.
I was in the Army and did have experience with the M9 as well as I have had the pleasure to shoot a CZ75. I have medium hands. The CZ did grip better but berreta wasnt that bad either TBH.
I shot both of them about the same.
I've read some reviews/ youtube of both guns so I wanted to ask directly those that had both these fine handguns what wisdom you guys could give me in helping to decide. It's really 50/50 for me which sucks because I want both!
I didnt know if there were any hidden flaws that I wasnt aware of but it doesn't sound like there really is. Price difference in north east ohio might be the deciding factor.

I don't have either but I do have a Taurus PT92C and a Tanfoglio Witness 45acp metal frame. Of all the pistols I own these two are my favorites and won't be parting with them any time soon.

I decided to keep my $200 gift card and I will have an additional 450$ post Christmas saved for a grand total $650 on my next purchase. I've always wanted a non polymer 9mm handgun so looking for opinions. I've shot both the beretta and cz and its 50/50 for me. This gun would be only for target practice and possibly another HD gun. All opinions are welcome. Durability and reliability are my defining factors.

Shoot straight has new in box 92FS for $429.00 I doubt you will find a better deal on one. Either way CZ or Beretta they are both classics.

$429 seems like a really good price
I have shot both the 92fs and cz75
I prefer the cz in fact I have a sp01 tactical next to me at the moment,
Both are proven platforms and will serve you well

I am a fan of both (Beretta 92 and CZ75).

Berettas advantages:
1. The open slide design..they say...make it less likely to have stove pipe jams.
2. The fit and finish looks nicer than the CZ.
3. There are times (although rare) when I like having a safety that disables the trigger.
4. There's less pins and springs to maintain when compared to the CZ (at least that's what I read in the internet... So take that with a grain of salt.)
5. Next to a 1911 the Beretta maybe the most beautiful gun out there.

Cz75 advantages:

1. Much better ergonomics. Next to a 1911 cz's have probably the best ergonomics out there. It is like shaking a good friend's hand.
2. Thinner profile.
3. Faster to get into action from DA mode. (No need to remember to take the safety off.) Yes... I could just leave the safety off with the Beretta... but I don't want to have to think about if I took it off or not... in times of an emergency.)
4. For me the trigger of the CZ is perfect. I don't like the trigger of the Berettas.
5.Be warned... .if you buy one CZ... you'll want to buy another...and another...and another.

Both have proven to be super reliable...with a slight edge to the Beretta. (The advantage over the CZ is probably not statistically significant.)

For night stand duty... Beretta 92. They open top design may prove to be an advantage when having to use the gun... when you do not have your full strength in your arms (such as from being awaken from deep sleep).

If I could only have one for carry, I would choose the CZ. (And if I could choose which model of 75, it would be the 75 compact. Better yet the CZ PO1.)

Both are fantastic pistols. I voted for the CZ.

I've owned both, sold both, and wouldn't go buy either again. While I wouldn't spend my money to buy either of them again I'd not feel the least bit handicapped with a Beretta if I were issued one. I can't say the same about the CZ.

I love and have both, but I will say the Beretta wins for me. I did work on both, mainly just switching out springs and setting up the Beretta was easier. I do like the extra slide real estate that the Beretta has when compared to the CZ. This is a hard one for me but basic models, Beretta edges out. Now the Shadow 2........that on the other hand is no contest my favorite pistol.

As much as I love them academically, I don't shoot CZs very well, can even get bitten. The 92 has been widely issued, so easy to find spares, accessories, tips and tricks. Cheapest Safariland holsters by far are for the M9. We know what breaks, so even the weaknesses (locking blocks, drawbar spring) are we known so you can watch out for them, without rumor.

I keep meaning to get one, would likely go to G model, decocker without safety. You can replace those parts, to the best I know.

Langdon is doing amazing things with the 92, and sells the parts so even if not getting one of this guns, you can do some great upgrades to it.

Is there a specific reason you dont care for either of them? What problems did you have with CZ? I'd definitely like hear your thoughts on this please.

On another note...

I've always wanted a full size metal handgun and the sig 226 is definitely too costly for me so it's come down to these two choices. ( too bad Smith and Wesson doesn't make current 3rd gen pistols anymore).

They're also good as boat anchors … (Just kidding, I like the old S&Ws as much as the next guy, but you gotta have a sturdy belt)

you can get good 226es for less than $650. Check retailers that offer CPO (red box) SIGs or post a WTB on the sigforum classifieds. You will likely find a friendly soul who can set you up with a nice 226.
By the way among those three pistols the SIG is my choice every day and twice on Sunday. ;)
