I don’t know, could be. I was told these were bought from a family of a Korean War- era vet via an estate sale, they could be CMP buys, “duffle bag” guns he acquired from his service or ones just bought by the original owner here and there.Riomouse911:
Although I've always preferred the compact size guns, those original-vintage 1911s are Very cool.
Maybe IMFDB (movies/tv guns database) lists episodes of the 1960's Combat series where they were used a bit? Might search for that.
Curious as to what they were asking for them, if you know.My FFL had a couple of WWII guns today.
First was a 1943-manufactured 1911A1, serial 1123xxx range. Its most likely an arsenal rebuild with a Colt frame, Remington-Rand slide. Parkerizing is pretty good and consistent all over, barrel bore was shiny and perfect. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was rebuilt and refinished a time or two and then stashed in an armory somewhere after the last refurbishment.

He also had a Rock-Ola M1 Carbine, serial 4616xxx range. This was being broken down for a good cleaning, and was in need of a stock because the one that came with it was thrashed . This gun wasn’t as pristine on the outside as the 1911A1, but it had more original metal parts.

A couple of old warriors, I just wish they could tell their stories.
Stay safe.
I think they are hanging onto them, they've built a pretty neat collection of stuff over the past few years.Curious as to what they were asking for them, if you know.
I immediately thought of Patrick Harper's volley gun (Sharpe's Rifles).Looks like the business end of a Nock Volley Gun!
