Nostalgic Offering from Ruger

If the overlords in Sacto would allow it, I would buy one to pair with my Gub’ment Model Mk II.

But since it’s not on their arbitrary and capricious “DOJ safe gun roster”, I can’t buy one.

Oh well…

Stay safe.

Ya, the blue 5.5” Mk IV is currently Kosher.

I wish the Ruger Mk-series uppers weren’t the serialized part, then we could swap them out for other styles/barrel lengths. (Not like the Mk IV is the gangsters choice for going out robbin’ guns anyway. 😕)

Stay safe

This thread made me nostalgic for my second handgun. I got it used in the early 1980s, Ruger's SN list puts it as made in 1956 (a couple of years before I showed up). It is the only firearm I ever purchased at a gun show. I broke it out & will take it shooting tomorrow.

I generally prefer adjustable sights, but have never needed them with this gun. It has always shot very close to point of range at any distance I consider reasonable for offhand shooting.

Here's my MKll with a pair of Hogue grips on it. A signature model, it came with white micarta stocks that were soon covered with gun oil/gunk etc. I like it for its bolt lock back feature after the mag is empty and superb accuracy. The trigger could be better but it's entirely usable as is. Malfunctions are few and far between too. Here's the gun with a holster I made up for it. Best regards, Rod
