First new gun of 2024! 😁

New grips helped with mine a lot, found some rosewood I liked but they were to smooth so I bought a Hogue grip for it. Much better.

My SP 101 is pretty much a safe queen since I bought a 642 Airweight.

Yesterday I got my first of 2024. It's a S&W Model 65-2 3" 357 "transitional", recessed cylinder but not pinned barrel. Traded a little used GP100 357 plus $200

I ordered a Glock 25 on 1-2-2024, but not sure when it will be delivered.

So far, I have horrible choices in guns in 2024, as the g25 is basically useless.

Double Stack .380 Glock sounds COOL!

First guns of 2024 were picked up a few days ago, a S&W 4506 that was filthy when it came in but cleaned up to near new condition, a Taurus 431 3" 5 shot k frame size revolver in .44 spcl, and a dirt cheap SAR9 that came with an extra slide with red dot to play around with as a range blaster.

I didn't buy any guns in 2023. I sort of want to get into bullseye pistol competition, and my understanding is that anybody who is anybody, shoots bullseye pistol with an S&W 41. So that might be happening this year.

Got a few at the end of the year, so it'll be awhile in 2024 before I'm shopping again. On the list is a new Anaconda or a S&W M25 in 45C.

I cleaned out my 2023 layaway with 3 guns, so I’m in your boat too. 2024… range time, save money, range time, save money, range time!

I just ordered a Stealth Arms Platypus. Theoretically it will be my only firearm purchase this year.

2 new 2024 guns here, an SP101 in .327 Federal and a 75th anniversary 10/22. I needed them like a bad case of hemorrhoids.

You know what one my top list for 2024. A bullet proof vest! I’m a Uber Driver in Seattle and we been getting lots of dead driver.

The Smith shot like a dream.
The Ruger, not so much.

The trigger was very light for an SP, so I suspect someone has worked on it, though I didn't get any ignition failures. The problem was it kept shooting very high/right and fast, accurate DA shots for me were, well- challenging would be generous.

So bottom line, I was shooting the gun unacceptably bad. I'm going to try some new grips, but otherwise this one may not stay long.....

@NIGHTLORD40K, congrats on a new SP, but sorry it isn’t shooting as well as you want. Bringing home a gun that turns put to be a “blah” on the range is always a bit of a downer. Maybe a few (dozen?) more cylinders fired through it will get it to grow on you.

My old SP is a tank of a snubby, a bit too big to carry as nicely as my airweight J frames, but it only holds 5 shots for HD duties, so others fill that niche.

Mine shoots OK. I did do the spring kit from Wilson (I think that’s it) and painted the front sight orange. I swapped panels from a GP-100 compact grip set to fill in for the industrial-looking plastic panels that it came with. Nothing about those make it shoot better, but IMHO it looks better.

SP with a S&W Model 49 and a new model Colt Cobra 6-shot.



Again, hopefully you find the happy spot with it.
