Another good squirrel hunt over dogs

my FIL called me up bout mid day when the rain stopped asked if I wanted to squirrel hunt (seasons open till end of February round here) I took him up on it. Right after he called me a friend of his called from a neighboring county coincidentally asking the same thing. So now we had us a good hunting party going 3 men and a 12 yr old boy plus 6 dogs. 2 of the dogs are 4 months old Barger stock fiest. Not old enough to really get it yet but we brought em for the experience. Over all took 7 squirrels. Tried to let the kid take most of the shots with his .22. "bubba" as we call him got 4 and I took out the 3 runners with my 20 gauge. Hunted from 1 till bout 5 in the evening

I picked up a black mouth cur from a shelter. A bit different from mountain cur but more similar than not. She’s made a great tracker, and very good pet. Before her I had zero experience with curs, but now I sing their praises. I’ll always be a scent hound guy at heart but objectively curs are great hunters. Tough, energetic when you need them to be but they can lay on a couch like a champ when you want them to chill. Glad the hunt went well. I was hoping for dog pics though.

Didn't think of that I'll take some next time. My FIL's dogs are mountain feist mountain cur hybrids
