Preferred DA/SA?

When I first started carrying a pistol I had a Ruger P94 I had had for some time. I spent a lot of time with it learning the two triggers, etc. Then I decided to swap to striker fired pistols. The last several years most of my time has been spent shooting striker fired pistols because that is what I have been carrying. A year or so ago I was shooting with some people & got to shoot a S&W 669. It just felt right. Then I went to shoot with another couple of fellows I know. Down there I got to shoot a CZ-75BD & a P-07 as well as a HK MK 23. So now I am wanting a DA/SA. This has been made worse because my friend down South asked me to check a local shop to see if they had any CZ's in .40 or .45. I went & looked around. They had used 5906's, a evidence locker P-07 & Sig P-226. Not sure when I will buy. My daughter is starting winter semester at college Monday & I've been sitting on my pennies in case she needs help but I know it is inevitable I will buy something soon. I want to get something decent & more interesting than another striker fired pistol without breaking the bank. Which DA/SA pistols do you like/prefer?

Taurus PT92. For a .22 the Ruger SR22 is a good choice.

If you want a. 45 DA/SA there's only a handful of options, one still being the Ruger P90. There's Beretta px4, Taurus TH45, and older S&W 59xx series.

I like Sigs-

None of them have the SRT trigger, and the DA/SA transition has never bothered me. Don't even notice it. But then I grew up on DA/SA hammer guns.

Love Berettas too. Got a bunch of 'em. Probably shoot the M92 a little better than the P226.

Haven't had a CZ75- yet- but I DO have one on layaway, so soon, soon. 😁 I have, however owned and shot Tanfoglios, which are very similar and they were pretty awesome.

Had a bunch of the S&Ws. Liked the 2nd Gen guns well enough, but feel the 3rd Gen were a step backwards. Pretty bad triggers on all of them. Only guns I ever experienced problems with reset as well.

Now, all that said, I carry a polystriker. But the old-school hammer guns still serve nightstand duty.

When I went back to a DA/SA gun (Traditional Double Action - TDA), I chose the Beretta PX4, and specifically the Langdon version of the full size gun.

H&K USP, CZ97, Colt Double Eagle, Tanfoglio Witness, Paraordnance, Sig P220, Astra A80, Llama Omni, Star Megastar, Beretta Cougar, FEG GGK45, S&W X45 and 45XX series, and a whole bunch of others I'm forgetting.

CZ75 is a life changer! I love Layaway!

Hear good things about the SA-35. Good trigger and groups well out of the box. Heavy and strong enough for a good range/target gun.

I have a couple DA/SA pistols but still prefer the SA 1911 at the range or a SA revolver. My truck gun is an old ruger p89 DA/SA w/ a 15 round mag and decocker though - safe, shoots okay, and is accurate but if lost won't hurt as much.

When I CC it's a chief special though.

Another vote for CZ, and I was shooting them many years before the cool kids came along and adopted them.

I like my H&K P30SK with the V3 trigger.

Full size is a P30.

The LEM trigger is good as well but takes a bit of getting used to. The hammer is down but the main spring is cocked. It gives you second strike capability if necessary unlike a striker fire pistol.

I kinda do as well...

Number 2 would be Beretta 92,
followed by CZ-75s (they'd be at the top if they could ever come up with a decent shorter, and shorter reset, trigger, like SIG, not to mention factory night sights)
and then HK (P30, P45).
I still have a sentimental fondness for the 3rd gen S&Ws...

I like Sigs a lot, at least the "traditional" ones, the polymer ones, not so much. I LOVE CZ platform guns of all types
This was my favorite gun of all I owned, at least in a semiauto:

But this one is now my favorite. I admit, I'm a sucker for satin nickel or satin/matte SS.
Even though I bought it thinking, incorrectly, it was SS, it is an NP3 or something similar refinish, and it's just fantastic. The slide fit is perfect, the action is great, the SA trigger is about 3 pounds, and so far, it's eaten anything I've put into it. Only thing I'm going to change on it is I bought a set of SS hex head grip screws for it. It's perfect in so many ways.

Favorite cheap DA/SA gun? No contest, the SAR CM9 G2. Clone of a Tanfoglio Polymer CZ clone. Great gun at a great price. IMHO, one of the all time great grip textures. Some people say it's "slippery". I doubt their sanity.

HK (P30, P30L, USP Expert, USP Elite), Walther P99as, CZ (P01, 75 Compact, P07), Beretta PX4, Sig P239....

Not really a fan of most Sig double stack DA/SA. I reckon its the high bore access and the boat anchor look. I own a Beretta 92x Performance, but I am not a fan other the other 92 offerings as well compared to the other firearms I mentioned.

I own or have owned most of the common ones.

My two favorites are the Sig P226/229, and the CZ75 and its derivatives.

I like shooting my 1911's just as much or more, but would prefer the Sig or CZ for SD.

Variants of the CZ made in Italy and Turkey are inexpensive and mine have been good. You can find full-sized or compact sizes, with steel or polymer frames.

The Sig P-series are very fine pistols. I got mine when a batch of police trade-ins came on the market. You can get a 9mm conversion barrel for the 40 caliber model.

This used Turkish CZ "clone" cost me about $250 OTD a few months back. Great shooter with a very nice trigger.

My favourite DA/SA is the P226. Perfect for my hands.
Here is mine:

My other DA/SA pistol is the Walther P99 AS which is a great pistol as well:

Other DA/SA pistols in my family are the Heckler & Koch P30 V3:

The CZ 75D Compact P01:

And the CZ 75B brushed stainless:
