Aside from HR218 annual re-quals, I hadn’t been to a range since Covid started, shame on me.
Remedied that today with a new range annual membership and some range time. A local 25 yard indoor range has a deal for first responders, even retired.
Regular annual fee with 10-25% discount on guns, ammo, targets, plus free guests, plus unlimited range time unless there is a wait list is $250. With the discount they knock it down to $100/ year. Even if I only go once a month that’s hard to pass up since their hourly rate is $16.
When I went to shoot, they gave me a range with no one else on it, yes! No need to keep an eye on others so I don’t get shot, plus no shooting noise distraction.
I brought three handguns, a S&W 65, a Browning .22 Buckmark, and a new to me, and as yet not fired by me, antique Iver Johnson break top In .38 S&W.
All went well, found I can still shoot reasonably well, and the break top was fun, though the DA trigger pull could be used as an exercise machine to build finger strength.
Definitely have to do this more often, especially during a quiet time in the week, like today.
