My first Colt single action, a New Frontier .45Colt. I've had this damned thing for 26yrs and never managed a decent picture of it. These aren't that great either but it's the best so far. Got it for a good price in the late `90's. It had been used and mishandled a bit, the cylinder scratched from reinstalling cockeyed. The finish is typical to Colt's of the time, over-polished with dished out screw holes and rolled over edges. The throats are more appropriate to the .45/70 but it was always a good shooter. Fitted it with a Belt Mt #5 basepin and Ajax stags, back when they were $90 a pair. New springs and untold hours stoning the action. When I sent David Clements a Ruger that would be color cased, I also sent some hammers to be done, including this one.

That’s a nice looking Colt, @CraigC :thumbup:

Maybe try a lighter background or a little shade to block reflections.
The main thing is the gun, and it looks good to me.

I do understand. I have taken numerous shots of my model 10-7 and they just never seem good enough. I really like the gun, so maybe I’m just too critical.
I took this one in a hurry to show one of my nephews what it looked like in a text and accidentally took the best shot of it I have so far.
It’s not a great photo but at least it shows the grip panel and adapter well.

I have only owned one Colt SAA. My sporting goods store owning buddy got two uncatalogued ones in the '70's. Nickle plated, 5 1/2" barrel, and 44 special caliber. He said, "I'm keeping one and the other is yours if you want it," and since he sold me guns at his cost I bought it. I hardly ever shot it and finally another friend offered me quite a bit of money for It and I sold it to him. I never found any flaws with the gun.

I used to take a lot of photos and kept a 35mm camera with an assortment of lenses in my work truck. It has got to the point where I put little effort into posing a shot and seldom even take a picture. I can remember taking two cell phone photos of grandkids in the last year. Iphone 13 has IS so they were good. Without IS I wouldn't even attempt to take a picture with anything as it would just be a blur.
