Anyone used the RMR 135gr 9mm Matchwinners?

I don't have a power factor load or anything but when I shot them at the last 3 gun match I just picked a load between 147 and 124. I can't remember what it was though but it shot pretty amazing and now I'm kinda addicted to the 135s. I still love the others, but it hit like a 147 on steel but felt lighter and was a faster recovery.

Now I'm following this thread.

I bought a couple thousand 135gr MW when they came out but haven't gotten around to loading any yet. My Apex Tactical barreled M&P9 really likes the 147gr HMW, while my SIG 320 really likes the original 124gr MW. I may have to try the 135gr in the Apex barrel

I had results with Xtreme 135 gr FP in a XDS 9x19 using Accurate #7 to mimic the 135gr Hornady critical load.

Following.
Thanks for reminding me I have 3K of these and still haven’t developed a load for them yet. There was a trend that theorized 135 was the sweet spot for 9mm and I wanted to see if it applied to me.

I have loaded a Blues 135 TC, .356, 1.120”, 3.40gr Sport Pistol, 132 PF : 3.60gr Sport Pistol, 137 PF. That was out of a P320 X5 Legion.
At the time I didn’t notice a huge difference, with my gun, and my shooting, between that and a 147 version of either the Blue or the FPMW.

Tried going to Hodgdon the other day but the site was down, up today
so I see they do have some data for 135s.

Once I get them loaded and tested I will update with vels.

I'm just over here trying to figure out how people have 3k of bullets they never shot or don't have a load for. Does one just buy 3k and hope they shoot good. I definitely buy bulk from rmr like 2k but I've got a good load well established first....

I was going to say, I like his optimism.
Im equally guilty tho, so I can’t say much.

Yup, I wait for sales and just click the button. It's just a matter of faith in the quality of the product that RMR puts out

I got a couple thousand Matchwinners in each of the weights they are offer in. At the time, I didn't load 115gr, 135gr,or 147gr 9mm bullets. I figured I'd come up with a load eventually...it isn't like I didn't already have a gun to shoot them in

When they had a sale on Nosler 230gr .45ACP flat nose bullets, I bought 3k of those too...because the price was really good...and I didn't even have dies to reload .45ACP

I used a lot of the 115 mmw but ditched 9mm, so I have a few left. Their great bullets, and I don't question the quality of Jake's product... I do question the bullet meeting a need that most bulk buy for... if it's blamo that's cool to.

The 124gr MW were my bullet of choice for my SIG 320, G34 for competition and general use in my other 9mm...using N20, Sport Pistol, or e3

The 147gr HMW pretty much just sat until I added an Apex Grade barrel to my M&P9. The HMW was so much more accurate, not only at 25 and 50 yards, but even at 15 yards, that I had to develop a load for it (started with N320 and eventually settled on N310)

The 115gr Mini MW never did get much use. I tried them for my PCC(s), but they wouldn't feed reliably and I had to buy some FMJ RN. I started them with N320 and was going to try Clean Shot if I can find time

The 135gr Midi MW sit as a planned experiment of a compromise between softer muzzle flip and quicker return to target. I remember Ernie Langdon winning his first IDPA National Championship shooting 135gr slugs in his Beretta 92 Elite II

4.0 tight group at 1.090 with the mmw was the ticket in my storm lake barrel.

That’s the premise. My brief foray into the 135 blues didn’t bear this out, at least for me. I used the recoilometer on the Mantis X and also tried some in practice and a match. I’m still at the point where reducing splits a few hundredths isn’t as significant as garnering more As or reducing target transitions or moving faster or…
I knew @longdayjake would make an excellent bullet so I had no doubt I’d find a load for it, for some purpose.

I ditched the .40 a few years ago and had about 3K Zero bullets left, plus a few others. No harm, it’s a quality product that won’t go bad. Then I had to (really I did) buy an FNS-40 because it was on sale so cheap. I’ve been shooting plated and coated bullets in it though, still have the Zeroes stashed.

They don’t go bad.

I just gotta say it's pretty cool to have my bullets listed in the hodgdon manual. We sent Western samples of all our bullets years ago but they only did data for the hp and the 115 and 124 RN. Good to see Hodgdon is doing something more with them. Would be cool if they did more than just western powders though.

As long as they list Silhouette loads I'm all good. 😁

That’s what I’m going to load the 124 Gr Nukes with. Gonna make a run soon. My last “full power” batch of 9MM is nearly gone.

I still have some of the regular MPRs as well as some Match Winners. All 124s
