Most fun gun

For me I think it'd be my Single Six.

It changes periodically, but right now I'd say my 6.5" Blackhawk in .357 magnum.
It's been going to the range every weekend.
It's accurate and soft shooting. I'd been shooting .44 magnum a lot, but it beats the heck out of you. I can take the .357 and shoot all day without discomfort.
Plus the fireball is just cool.

My dear friend shooting my “dainty gun”. My very first handgun. A Colt Diamondback .22.

Still fun. Tens of Thousands of rounds of .22 Wildcat through that little gun.

Next would likely be a little Ruger Take Down .22 with a match trigger group and a red dot that was a gift from a friend.

Ok, I'll play....today's emergent from the ole safe is...ta dah...a Ruger 4-5/8" bbl'd Single Six in .32 H&R...

Great accuracy, plenty of smack so's you'll know you hit the plate at 50 yds.
Good bullets from Hornady, and really CHEAP ones from my RCBS mold.
Cases that last forever and you don't have to chase them all over hell's half acre.
And that old plow handle grip that has felt right for a century and a half.

Geez I love these old six-guns and in .32 H&R, I've got 4 of them. And BTW, I'd add, "good leather to tote that blued-steel beauty, around the lower 40.

That's my pick, and here's your pic....that upper one, a Smith M-16 is a bit more accurate but weighs six oz's more...it's the lower one that's got my fancy today along with the rig for hip carry. YMMv but I don't care! Best Regards from the Geezer Patrol "Rod".

This is in handguns, and I'll see about staying on topic.

My fitness level has really dropped, but if it had not:
  • A good repeating gas pistol
  • A Colt Woodsman, Ruger .22 semi-auto, or Smith Model 41
  • A real Queen Anne pistol
  • An 1851 Colt
  • A Single Action Army revolver
  • Any Colt, Ruger, or Smith medium frame DA revolver in .38 or .357
  • A Colt Gold Cup .45
Yes, i know, the subject was most, But if I were still up to it, I could not choose among the above.

I'd definitely say all of my revolvers, bit the one I've had the most fun and still almost always comes out back with me is Dad's Single Six. I've been on a bit of a 22 kick as of late, and another is at the LGS awaiting clearance from the checkers(Another Single Six) I should have it Thursday.
Now I just picked up a Mark 2 soooooo it could take that top slot, but Dad's gun always puts a big smile on my face. I remember when he got it, and it's the first handgun I ever shot. I think i was 16. It's a fabulous shooter to boot. I hope this stainless model I just acquired shoots as good. I'm sure it will, tis a single six after all
That's it up top. The Colt below it is a blast too....got 4 22 handguns now, like said in my post on the Mark 2, I think I need to order a pallet of 22lr.....

Hum. Never used a firearm for picking mushrooms. Ours just sit there.
I've heard of aggressive mushrooms but they're not indigenous to my area. We have the sneaky kind. Best way to find them is walk behind me.

I can't pick a "most fun" but I promise I've got a .22 something with me every single time, no matter what kind of shooting I'm doing.

A straight old school m16 build. As 60s as i can legally be where in at. No laser beams or gear whore stuff. Kids love the simplicity. But black powders always get the young ones interest....until they load a few times. But yea, m16

It's indoor range season, so the funnest presently is the Wife's Taurus 605 Snubby .357 with 158 grain .357 hard cast over a max load of H110. Really gets the attention of the range, even the guys doing mag dumps with their ARs take notice and wiggle their ear plugs in a little tighter. It's really unpleasant to shoot with these loads, but worth it for the shock, awe, and light show.

At my last indoor trip, I uncovered a partial box of gilding jacketed 7.62 Tokarev cleaning my gun safe, so the the CZ 52 was a fun one on that trip as well.

In outdoor range season, the CZ 52 was tops on my handgun list, but the depletion of my surplus ammo is getting real, and the fact that it slings the brass into the next county makes reloading impractical...kind of takes the fun out of it. Present outdoor favorite is the Walther P-1. Just an accurate, easy to shoot pistol.

Hmmm. The P365 sees lots of range time, maybe because it really fits my hand. Have a 200 round defensive class scheduled, and the 365 will be my primary choice. I'll take a P320 if the little SIG starts wearing me out. The Glock 44 is another good choice.
The Rossi '06 'gallery gun' with a tang sight, and 16" barrel is a great long gun.

Hmmm…”Most Fun Gun” This is a quandary. A good quandary, but still a quandary.

I am going to have to say my Smith & Wesson 25-15 .45 Colt. This is the gun I actually get most excited about when taking it to the range.
My wife laughed at me one day when she asked what I had planned for the day.
I responded with “I think I will hit the indoor range.” Then I added “I get to take my model 25 with me to try some special loads I made for it.”
She smiled and said “I swear, you looked like a happy little kid when you said that and you used the words ‘I get to take’ when telling me about taking your big Smith & Wesson to the range. You even sounded like an excited little kid.” :)
So, here is the revolver I get most excited about. I just love shooting this revolver over all of my handguns.
