What's this gun worth?

I have a LARC International M19-A BB Machine gun I was thinking of selling.
Propellant cost is getting too high and I don't want to go to the trouble of having someone convert it to compressed air for me.

If you've never seen one, you've missed out! They hold 3,000 bb's and can shoot them all in about 60 seconds (yes that's 3,000 rounds per minute firing rate!). Looks like a gold laser beam coming out

They are great out to about 50 yards and will tear a new one in a piece of wood.

It's in really good condition except for a very small crack where you pour in the bb's (they all do that because it's also where you instal the stock).

I know they were banned a long time ago (in the 80's I think).

Any clue what they are worth?

Good lordy at 3,000 rounds per second, I sure hope it's liquid- cooled.

Is this one of the guns that looks generally like a Tommy gun or more like a space gun?

Uh, my internet research says it's only worth about $15. I'm a pretty generous guy, though, so I'll give you $20 for it - just tell me where to send the check...

edit - cratz2 - if it's what I think it is, it has to be artificially heated up during extended firing, or else it'll freeze solid. The expansion of the propellent gas is an endothermic process (like when you use a can of canned air, it gets cold to the touch).

Looks more like a space gun.

I just heard they sell for about 150-200 bucks. I think I'll probably just keep it and figure out how to convery it to run on compressed air. They say it's an easy conversion...I hope so 'cause I sure miss shooting it

You are correct! It gets VERY cold! The gun doesn't freeze but the propellant can will frost over and lose power after a while. Not an issue once converted to compressed air though.

just convert it to propane !! bb/flamethrower !!! did you see about getiing a co2 bottle for it?

It would take a very large Co2 bottle indeed. But for the same cost of that conversion I could do air which is free. It only needs 60psi to fire at full force.

maybe, but depends on what you want to do with it. if you want it as a porch mounted crew served cat chaser then you'd prolly be ok.

although in no way do i condone the shooting of cats with bb guns of course

I'll take a pic of mine tomorrow and post it.

My latest thought is to maybe have a schrader valve installed on an old freon can so i can keep refilling it with air

But yeah, I mainly just shoot from my porch...but not at cats...usually

Just a plan dumb question out of ignorance...These things use to use Freon..Right?...Since freon is bad!..Bad freon!..LOL Why couldn't you just use the new ozone stuff..It's not like it's running in you car compressor, etc.?

I have an Uncle who has one he bought years ago. We hooked it up to a compresser, and had a BUNCH of fun shooting it. You can really go thru a carton of bb's in no time at all. He brought it to town last summer, and my youngest had a kick shooting it in the back yard.
No idea what they sell for though. Maybe you should just keep it, since they are really neat!

Because the new "freon" (r-134a) is in a different kind of can than r-12 freon. The adapter wouldn't fit. ANd besides, r-134a is still about 5 bucks a can which is way too expensive.
