I took a woman I've been dating to the range yesterday for her first ever shooting experience and she loved every minute of it. She'd been wanting to go for weeks and had literally drooled over my modest collection of firearms, taking quite a fancy to my Smith & Wesson Model 36. However, strange as it may seem (and to her utter astonishment) she found that she preferred shooting my Ruger Vaquero and now wants a Taurus Gaucho in the worst way.

Anywho, before you guys start telling me how worthless this thread is without pics here are a few for you to peruse (with her permission). Enjoy!

Heck she would've been hooked with the lever action rifle.

Very nice. Now get her involved politically; women are gems! :neener:

could be a keeper, fer shure!

See how things work out in the other relationship areas, and you may be set!

As an aside, I'm curious: Did she spend much time in MD while growing up, or is she a transplant? My wife is a PA transplant, to which I attribute her general non-blissninny outlook.

Alright!

My wife barely tolerates me shooting and having guns in the house. That really puzzles me because I'm the one from the peasant stock, and she's the grand-daughter of a general.

Were the photos at On Target?

Good going! Now you need to get her to take her friends to a Women on Target event. There will be some this year at AGC, but no dates have been set yet.

I thought so, too. However she found the rifle a bit too much for her ~ at least for now. (I was shooting hot magnum loads and even my shoulder is a bit bruised) However all is not lost, as she told me this afternoon that she wants to try it again sometime. :)

One interesting side note: While there a gentleman four lanes away passed by and asked whether it were a Winchester Model 94. When I replied in the affirmative he asked if I'd like to see a genuine Model 92 dating from the Old West period and produced one with all the pitting and original markings you'd expect. Almost 120 years old and yet it still shoots great....amazing.

Believe it or not, she was born and raised in Baltimore. Imagine that...

Things have been going well in every area thus far, so well in fact that it's making me suspicious - there's gotta be a catch here....somewhere. :scrutiny:

None other. How'd you guess?

Sit back and enjoy the moment. The catch usually rears its ugly face until it's too late. ;)

Been there quite a few times.

I got me a good one (we go rifle shootin' once a month) who is slowly becoming Libertarian (was Republican, but has issues with the legislating morality thing). Good work, and i'll tell ya now, havin' a woman who can outshoot you makes for a very attractive bodyguard!
