those are some really good deals. I just cant see spending that much money. i mean when im lazy i will buy 50lbs of lead on ebay for about a buck a pound shipped. I dont know i probably can make about 20 thousand of those with that much. Now when im not lazy i will go to different tire shops collect on some free wheel weights. take them all home by the end of the day. Then clean them melt and flux them. pour them into ingont molds then. The next day start casting.

I find that i can only cast for about an hour at a time because i start getting bored. I can do about 300+ an hour. Im sure i can do more but quality will suffer.

I purchased 6K of those from Brassman a few months back. Nice bullet, great price, fast shipping and the gal that answers the phone is super nice. Recommended.

I found the problem and it was me. :banghead: Brassman had some serious ISP/DNS issues several months ago. I had tweaked the browser and a few other things to be able to get to their website (when few others could). Those same settings kept me from seeing the updated version. Sorry for the trouble.

That looks like a good deal. I'll order a few K for cheap plinking when they open next week. Has anyone tried these at 1100 fps? (to make USPSA minor power factor).

Sometimes we are too smart for our own good, Ehh. Wish I was that smart with computers. I get around pretty good for a non IS guy. :)

joe4702 and the rest of you fellows:
I'm very, very new to reloading and I got some Rainier LeadSafe TJM bullets in 9mm, 380 and 40S&W. My problem is getting the correct loading data. Rainier's website recommends reducing the regular load for ...say a 115 grain 9mm by 10%.
Can you guys that load lead bullets help me out with this one.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

Not sure I understand your question. Are you wanting some example lead bullet loads?

Your Rainiers are plated bullets, so use lead bullet
load data. Or you can use jacketed bullet load data reduced by 10%.

Rainier calls their bullets "Total Copper Jacketed", which I find a poor choice of names, since they are actually plated bullets.

Jim, you can load Rainier plated bullets up to 1200 FPS without any problems. I like to start in the upper lead data and work up. Just make sure if you are going to use them for IDPA or other competition that you load them high enough to make power factor. The one thing you have to be very careful with is to not over crimp them. To much crimp and the plating will come apart before they reach the target. I use the Lee FCD and use just enough crimp to straighten the bell out that the powder die put in. I have pulled a couple to check the crimp and I can just barely see a mark in the copper plating.

I did too, but leave a message and they'll call you back. It's a small operation but I ordered on Friday afternoon and it was on my porch Monday.

I called and ordered some yesterday. The lady who took the order was very nice.
Thanks for the heads up, Odnar.

When they're that cheap, it's not worth my time to try to cast my own. Back when I was single, no kids, low-paying job and lots of spare time I could do it. Now my time is worth a little more to me.

At that price, are these ready to load bullets? Have they been lubed and has the casting flash been taken off?

Here's some pics of the bullets I received. I looked casually through the bag and didn't find any bad ones. A couple had tiny dings in the lube from contacting other bullets during shipping. Nothing I'd even look at twice. The loose bullets in the second and third pictures are the first ones to come out when I cut the corner off and poured. (Not cherry picked or anything).

Bullets

Those look like lead/cast bullets so my question is?????? I have 500 Rainier LeadSafe TMJ Plated bullets each of 9mm, 355 Dia, 115 grain plated bullets. 400 Dia. 165 grain plated round nose flat point 40 S&W and 355 Dia. 95 grain plated round nose 380 ACP's. The Rainier website recommends reducing by 10% the suggested load for FMJ's or use loads recommended for cast/lead bullets. That would be great if I could find load data for cast.??? I just started reloading a couple weeks ago and I don't have any frame of reference to draw from.

Fellows, if you have some loading data you could share with me could give me a startomg [pomt I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jim
