My Marlin 25MN .22mag could not even shoot down a mylar balloon at a distance of about 25ft using CCI shotshells. The shot just bounced off the balloon.

My use of CCI .22 shotshell was taking a head shot on
a 2.5 foot snake curled up under the clothes hamper
in my mother-in-law's bathroom. At ~3 feet range, it
worked. The snake died. It was that, or have my mother-in-law
move in with us. I claim justification of necessity.
