I had a good target going. Shots in order- 9, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 8, 10.

I held too long on that second to last shot. I knew it when I was doing it. Could I have had the mental power to set the pistol down, take a virtual relality break and start again? NO! I figured I could adapt and overcome. I Was Wrong! I don't even take my own advice.

Phunny, a fellow shooter said that he'd like to see one of my 99sf targets some time. He's an improving shooter, and was there the other day when I finally shot a perfect 100 rapid target. So, here I was pushing myself to beat Tstar77, shooting what could have been a 99sf, when in the back of my mind there must have been that earlier conversation. That's it, I made two mistakes, (other than letting the trigger break when the barrel was not pointing at the 10 ring). Held too long, and let my mind play on the fact that I could be shooting one of my best SF targets.

By the way, Tstar77 beat me last night. Matching our personal bests. Which took me by 3 pts.

Wow! Nice. I shot crappy last night but tonight I came back with a vengence:

10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 10, 9, 10. 10

I just told myself to 'hold the 9 ring'.... and I did! Woo hoo! I shot soooo bad the night before. Uncharacteristic of me too. I had a miss on rapid fire. Just flung it out there like my wrist was taken over by Paul Lynde.

Followed up tonight with a 98 TF (Threw an 8 on my next to last shot... holding too long) and then a 98 RF.

SO I had a 293-5x (Crappy x count but who cares!).

Helped my team win too... by 2 points!

Made the 2 hour drive (one way) well worth keeping the team in first place!

You 2 make me sick :p. Maybe some day I will grow up and shoot my slow fire that good. My best ever is a 95 and that was only once. How about I shoot timed and rapid for you guys and you 2 shoot my slow.;) Good job guys!

You've got a deal Lil Ski!

I'll have to admit, I don't shoot slow fire that well every time. I sure wish I did! But I'll bet at my club that I probably do have more 93+sf's than anyone else.

We have a bulletin board on the wall behind the line. If you're proud of your target, put it up. There's only a couple 100 T/R. Bunch of 98's/99's. Shoot a 99, pull down your own or someone else's 98. There aren't any slow fire targets posted. Most are not proud of their SF shooting. I have an 11-16-05 99sf on the wall in my office. Also a few 94/95/97 iron sight 25yd SF's hanging in my gun room. A reminder that I 'can' shoot that well. (When the cosmic forces are aligned and when my last two remaining brain cells have taken a rest from their feud.) I've shot a few 99's since then, but being humble (no comments from Tstar77!), I elected to throw them in the BTU pile.

My problem has been consistency. That second 600 with the 97 1st SF, the other night, I followed that up with a 90 SF.:banghead: And with 95-98 T/R's in that set, I flung a 90 R. :banghead: No, not a miss, just too many 8's. This is where yours and Bdutton's experience makes me look like the rookie that I am.

Bdutton, You shoot very well. 97+% is awsome! Our league is with two clubs/6 teams. I'm chasing a guy that shoots 96%. I'll be lucky to win 3rd place overall. You may have seen my post on the Bullseye list for 'What are your competition guns'... I've gotten responses back from many that say in so many words- 'No serious BE shooter is shooting a Ruger'.

Well, I wonder if I could shoot better SF with a better designed pistol? Each season I make a change. Either with me, or the pistol. First thing was the trigger job and grips. Last season was a RedDot. Now I'm looking for a lighter Dot and will entertain building my own polymer grips molded from my hand, or Randle Fungs.

Huh?

You Humble Jack :what: not the description I would choose :neener: He is a good SF shooter though, that is where he usually gets me! I am like lilski I believe 95 is my personal best for sf also, I thought I had it beat the other night till I flung a 7 on the 10th shot :banghead: But hey what do ya do?

I'm guessing we're talking indoor club leagues, right? At either 25 yards or 50 feet.
My "best" is a 95-2X at 50 yards with the .45 at a regular outdoor 2700. :)
And that was with a Clark Heavy Slide; Bo-Mar rib, no red dot. If it wasn't for that darn 7 it would have been really nice.

Thanks!

You shoot a ruger?

Its a very accurate gun that in my opinion will get you only so far. The balance and grip are not to my liking.

I shoot a pardini. I am planning on building up a dedicated lower for my Marvel and shooting that. I need to imporve my .45 shooting and a dedicated lower for a marvel should help me get better .45 scores.

cdrt:

I shoot an indoor 50 foot league.

Nice job on that 95 with iron sights. I don't think I've ever shot a SF ironsights that well.

I did shoot a 99-5x with a dot though.
