OK, as a few people saw in my Gramps comes through thread, I am now the proud owner of an Eddystone-made U.S. Rifle Model of 1917 that I have never seen and probably won't see for a few months.

To tide me over, how about some drool-worthy pics of these classic rifles from the shutterbugs among us?

Thanks!

i would post pics of mine, but i don't have any on this comp. they are gorgeous looking rifles

Chipperman, you think your photo's bad?

This ought to make you feel better:

( I think the Eddystone is the dark blur on the bottom.)

Hope your rifle bore is bright and shiney:confused: Those were the days
of corrosive primers. A great many had dark bores, but a few I have
seen were like new;) I have owned three once. At that time, no military
barrels were available, maybe still not. The two with sewer barrels were
rebarreled, restocked, and total sporterized with the exception of the bolt
handles and safety. Both the 25-06 and 6mm are sub minute shooters and
saved from a scap barrel:)

My Grandpa also gave me a M-1917, but when I was 13 years old.
He brought it over with 2 full bandoleers of AP ammo. I was a happy boy!

You better not Bubba that thing like I did!(Im so ashamed! )

It would be a good idea to workout while you're waiting.

Years ago I had one as my deer rifle, and I swear my right arm is a little bit longer from carrying it. :D
