What else can an expensive BUIS provide?
Does a Matech sit low enough to allow a scope bell underneath?
The differences in price are USUALLY due to how solidly the BUIS mounts, how robust it is, how easy it is to use, how firmly it locks into position, how large it is, and what sort of aperture features (multiple apertures, range/elevation adjustments, windage adjustments) it offers, etc. Unsurprisingly, a rock-solid non-bulky BUIS that is easy to flip up and locks solid, with many features, is NOT cheap to engineer and manufacture, and so it is not inexpensive to purchase. Some flip up BUIS systems are very expensive and some are on the lower end.
