No, but I have two or three of those pot-metal bodies with the threads stripped out of them in my junk.

That Lee company went out of business and he started the new Lee company.
Don't think anyone makes them any more.

Are we talking a set screw here? If so, a hardware store usually has an assortment to try. Probably 4-40 or 6-32 thread.

Naw. The threaded shell-holder screws into the pot-metal tool body.

Until the threads wear out in the pot metal anyway.

Ya E-bay is the way to go. Do a search on cast bullets for reference as to what letter fits what caliber. As I understand E-bay requires use of PayPal now.

Any one out their tried using J-B Weld to glue a shellholder into a stripped out oldie?

I haven't had one of those threaded shellholders strip (I tend to be delicate with my instruments) but if it ever strips I would consider drilling for 3 set screws evenly spaced.

Adam, to answer one of your original queries, yes they did come with Large Rifle Primer rods & shell holders for larger cases, I have 308/30-06 size, Belted magnum & 303 br size at least from memory. Good luck, I like mine.

I've never seen one of those myself, but don't the shell holders for the Lee case trimmers screw onto the pilot stud? Are they the same? Or totally different?

Totally different, the priming tools with the screw in shell holders preceded the later Lee Auto prime tools & AFAIK, there is no other application for the shell holders.

I believe the priming tools went out of production well over 20 years ago. I know I broke one in the early `80s that was bought in the mid `60s and could not get replacement parts back then from Lee.
Lee has been marketing tooling under a couple names. The Old "Lee Custom Engineering" and todays "Lee Precision Inc". I`ve also got an old set of powder dippers that I can`t get an up dated charge chart for as they were made under the old name and are obsolete today. The dippers are in a black & red box and are black colored, where todays are yellow in color and in a white & red box. Mine have a "part number" on the handle where todays are ID`ed by"volume".

Ol' Joe, that "part number" on your old Lee dippers is the volume of the dipper in cubic inches. Current dippers use cc's.

So there's no more confusion about what we're talking about! That one was probably bought in the late '70's.

Adam, I'm still looking for that other body, when I find it, I'll send those shell holders an the second body to you. Might as well go to someone who will use them.

I love these little primering tools. They fit nicely in my small hand. Yes the strip out all the time. I have several that have gone bad also. I am think how I can create an insert to modify the end to still use them after they crapout. Does crapout need a hyphen or two "PP" oh well.

Are you looking for the shell holder for this primering tool and if so what caliber. I might have an extra one or two that I might part with if a trade can be worked out, maybe. Cash I do not need!!!!!!! I like these priming tools to much. Yes there crap metal.

Possible repair

I am new here. Been absent from reloading a while and am getting interested again. I have been reading various posts for fun.

If you have a friend that does metal machining for a hobby or have a small machine shop nearby check with them to see if it is possible to drill out the body and install a helicoil. That would restore the threads in steel and extend the life of the tool.

I had at least 2 of those long ago, both either stripped their treads of the pot metal lever broke. I now have the newer version and its is great, no more having to handle each primer or get them in right side up. good luck on your quest.
