I thank this is what I want.in a 3in barrel are thay good guns how much do thay sell for anybody have one that can let me See a pic of thinks

among j-frame afficiandos,

The 3" model 60 seems to be a general favorite. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

Here is a link to the S&W product page about it. They also make a "Pro" series version with a different barrel profile, a different set of grips, and a different finish. I've owned both the 60 and the Pro 60, both with 3" barrels, and I really like them.

A real consideration might be whether or not you want a small frame (the J), or a medium frame (K/L). The small frame is limited to 5 rounds; the larger frame can be had as a six or seven shot, depending on the model and version.

Here is the link to the S&W Revolvers directory--look over the various frame sizes there.

The one don got is that a pro j or k and can I get some wood for that?

Your question, "how much do thay sell for anybody have one that can let me know"

FWIW I sure prices vary a bit from area to area. I bought one BNIB .357 3", about two months ago for $559.00 plus tax from a local gun dealer.

LOVE IT!!!

Good Luck,
Bill H

I love a 3" K frame, but for some reason I just can't get excited about a 3" J frame. That's just me , however. YMMV.

Here's mine. I love it. I'm hoping to grab on to some factory combat grips in the next couple days. I'd also like a set that comes on the new 60 pro series.

I like shooting .38's in mine. Shooting .357's begins to hurt after a while. I got a set of pro series grips for mine and IMO, it looks great and handles better than the mono grips that came with it.

The Pro 60 has the matte stainless, slabside shrouded barrel, Trijicon night sight, checkered/stippled wood grips, and chamfered charge holes.

"I have the S&W Pro-60. Even given the stupid integrated lock, it is on my short list of "the one handgun I would keep if I could only keep one"... "

My sentiments exactly, Jframe.

And yes, shooting .38 and .38+p is pleasant. Shooting .357, a box of 50 will make you glad it's only 50....but it is damned fun.

Mine is the standard model 60, not the pro. (I don't see any particular advantage for the pro series.) Yes, you can get wood stocks from a number of suppliers. Just look for ones that fit a J frame round butt.
