JD,
I shoot a M77 VT Ruger .308 Win.with a factory target style stock about 10-11 lbs with scope in , off the bench with front rest and rear bag, the first ten rounds I can shoot free recoil, just letting the forearm slide over the powdered front bag, they feel more of a push, no pain or cheek slap can get several rounds through the same hole and all 5 touching most of the time
, the second ten I start tightening up and trying to control that rearward thump and I start anticipating the trigger let off, the concussion starts to affect the trigger control, these look like .30 cal clover leafs 3 and 4 petals with the 5th usually a flyer
, shots 20-30 the groups go to 1-2 inches and sometimes flyers that don't make the target board
and at times the session has ended with a nice little laceration over the eye or on the bridge of the nose
from trying to creep up the stock.
yous truly Flinchy
p.s. you can use a hachet and a hammer to cut those blocks
