My name is Mike. I live on 80 acres so I can have my oyn shooting range. My shooting point is from my front porch. My target is 100 yards away down into the bank of a large pond. You gotta love it.
My favorite shooter is a Winchester model 47 single shot 22, no scope. Cheap to shoot and a little challanging. I have picked off a few coyotes from the porch using my favorite rifle of all. It is a pre 64, Winchester model 94 30-30 from 1952. Don't use it very much. I have a 12 guage, a 22-250 varmint rifle and an old crossman pump air rifle. Handguns are a Charter Arms undercover 38 special and a Smith and Wesson model 51 magnum rim fire.
I enjoy being here to see what ya'll have to say.

Many people here are CA residents, I'm about 20 mins from you as I live in FF. Send a PM and we can talk Sharkee.

New member here, name is Ken. From Bflo,NY now living in west central FL. Been shooting guns and rifles since 1972 or there about. VietNam vet in Gulf of Tonkin while in Navy. Great site here with helpful info.

Just joined up love the information thats on this site it is a real help when trying to make new purchases. shoot mostly glock handguns and just picked up a carbon 15 9mm bushy.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm Keats from Arizona.
Retired, enjoying the warm weather, and life in general.
I prefer S&W and carried one every working day till I was able to retire.

Found this site on google while I was researching a pistol, found a lot of helpful info here and decided to register.

I am a new to owning a firearm, while I have fired guns before at the range and hunting, I have never owned one personally nor had a license till this month. Did a lot of looking around for a decent pistol to conceal and landed upon a S&W 6904 in great shape.

Anyways, I'm 22 in college for Computer Science and Mechanics, also I live in the middle of nowhere Alabama.

I live in a little northwestern virginia town most noted for being shot up in the civil war. Custer hung some reb guerillas here. I've been a gun salesman for several different FFL holders in the area for the last two and a half years. Conceal carry, used hunting rifles, some black rifles, shotguns you name it...I became a gun salesman because I got tired of being laid off.,,so I work two or three part time jobs selling. I have a G number and do the call ins...I work the gunshows for an FFL holder. Bio: Long term married with two grown children. Like all kinds of firearms, own more than I care to relate, a good firearm is one that works when you need it. Anything else is a wallhanger or a lemon. I don't get to the range often enough, but I talk to a lot of gunowners, and fellas, one hell of a lot of first time buying Democrats with a bad case of remorse. Politically I don't see a whole hell of a lot to choose from, it reminds me of something I heard a British soldier say in a movie, "There's killing officers and there's MURDERING officers, there's officers that may get you killed, but there's officers who are so arrogant in their sophistry and incompetence that they'll murder you."
THANKS TO ALL VETERANS, I APPRECIATE MY FREEDOMS
GOD BLESS THE US MILITARY.

I'm happy to have found this forum. Topics and discussions near and dear to my heart. I "fled" the socialist country to our North (Canada) about 26 years ago and as soon as I could became a legal immigrant, naturalized citizen. No sneaking under a fence or burrowing through a tunnel.

Since about 1987 I've been a self-taught part-time gunsmith, now mostly retired. I am happy to see the level of vigorous argument here for The Second Amendment to our treasured Constitution.

I hope I can add positively to the conversations, but I hope no-one minds that I hold my beliefs in this country very strongly, and am too old (62!) to hold anything back.

Welcome to you, young, (am 65), refugee from Kanuckistan (land of my grandfather) !
Hope you enjoy the valuable information and good fellowship on this forum.

Hello everyone. I'm a new member. Native Montanan, my Dad Nate & my Mom Kate started me hunting at a young age. I thank them for this. I, in turn, introduced my children to the hunting lifestyle, they in turn, their children. We are a tight family, that enjoy's the bounty of this life that God created for us.

How much range will the Glocks render? I think your wife must have known about Glocks from Patricia Cornwell's novels! Amazing what I now know about handguns from reading her novels!

i'm starting to think that I NEED a handgun myself, we've got so much wildlife in our area!

My question is, how do you go about introducing your dog to the sounds of gunfire?
we have a hunting dog.. still young, still a pup, but I'm sure he'll be a great hunting dog, since all his ancestors were!
We're thinking bout doing duck hunting though, not deer or bear hunting! Would just the sounds of gunfire going off at regular intervals make him used to the sounds of guns?
I'd also like to get into bowhunting. I think that's a neat sport, and my boyfriend was into it.
Is that legal though to do in a city limits setting? If you are just target practicing? with the bow that is?

My names Teri and i have a fascination for guns ammo anything that blows things up etc. I might sound a bit lame here, but i do not shoot anything thats got fur or feathers , don't want to start a debate on you guys and gals that do ,thats up to you, If your going to shoot it and eat it thats fine ,i just hope that there are other people on this site that are like me, as the gun side of things is still as enthusiastic.

Hello to all you other newbie guys. As to handgun options, try a Springfield Armories XD(M). 45ACP is coming soon I've heard. Pretty awesome, and the takedown is amazing. It's what our boys in the ME should be carrying!

Welcome!

Just found this site after searching for INFO about firing 270 in a 06 - I already see a lot of great discussions going on and was reading several post on this subject but can't get back to it after registering. Anyone know the thread I was on?

new guy

I am fairly new here although before I became a member I often sought THR posts for information. I am a Veteran and currently manage a security company and train security guards in Alabama. I am Monadnock certified as a basic baton instructor and PPC Inc certified as an OCAT instructor. I am a Glock certified armorer and I am also an NRA certified basic pistol instructor. I am licensed by the State of Tennessee Dept of Commerce and Insurance as an armed/ un-armed Security Guard Trainer for pistol, baton and OC spray. (Alabama has no licensure for guard trainers) Lastly, I am a TN Dept of saftey handgun safety instructor and can teach TN carry permit classes. I own several pistols and rifles but currently only one shotgun. I prefer Glock and Springfield pistols and S&W M&P15 rifles, although I find most AR's are pretty much the same. I have found THR to be a good cure for ignorance.

my name is mike i am a new member.i hunt, ifish, ilike to shoot my pistole as much as i can afford to do so in the troubling times.:D

Greetings, I'm Mike.

It appears I have found the resourceful forum that I have been looking for. I'm glad to be here and hope to fulfill my goal with this websites help. My goal is to compile an arsenal of factual and documented news stories & statistics that support THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS.

I say factual and documented because I would like them to be useful for arguments that employ scientific scrutiny, thus are not emotional opinions with bias.

I'm nearly 27, and live in Orange County, California. I own a lefty Remington 700bdl 30-06, Ruger 10/22, Sig P226 9mm, and custom AR-15 by J&J Armory out of Santa Ana, CA.
