We were at the favorite candy store and I saw for the first time the new Walther 1911 22LR semi. This gun looks very good, tight well made nice finish but has this goofy fake 5" silencer you can put on it. Thankfully Walther supplies a barrel extension to screw on so you don't see threads, when not using the fake silencer [ as if anyone would use it ] Waited the 3 days and just picked it up. He never had a 1911 and didn`t know how to break it down so I went over to show him, what to do. The only problem is you need 2 small allen wrenches [ supplied by Walther ] to remove the slide and barrel, I thought that was a pain but everything else worked like the 1911, He hasn`t shot it yet but I`m hoping to get a chance soon because I`m in the market for a 22. The Walther looks promising all black, nice beavertail and adjustable sight, trigger felt good. All in all it looks promising. I`m hoping it doesn`t have some of the problems the P22 has been reported as having, such as the feeding and use of selective 22 ammo. Has anyone else seen this gun or own one yet? By the way the gun shop had one and that`s the one my friend bought, so they reordered 3 and those all sold out in 2 days so looks like it may be something to look at.
Edit: The gun was priced at $450 which I thought was not bad, this was a small shop so who knows it might be less somewhere.
EDIT.........WE HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS GUN IS A "GSG" AND NOT A WALTHER
