I have an M&P 45c, and love it. If you have an M&P, what kind do you have, and if you want throw a pic in as well. ALL FOR THE LOVE OF THE M&P!!!

I'm a fan of the M&P line. Besides the Steyr M40, it's got the best ergos for me of all the polymer frame pistols I've tried.

I currently switch between the M&P40c and Bersa UC9 for carry, but I think it will soon boil down primarily to just the M&P soon. The UC9 (as sweet as it is), has a manual safety that gives it a bit of girth. Besides that, they are essentially the same size.

After purchasing the .357 Sig barrel, I have two guns in one. However, the .40 S&W barrel will reside in the pistol the vast majority of the time, I'm sure.

I loved my 9mm compact (purchased late 2006) when I had it, but I found myself in a jam in 2008 and needed to make my car payment more. :banghead: One hundred percent perfect functioning. :)

I have the 40c. It's very comfortable and has been 100% so far. It isn't going anywhere...except with me to the range and back. I would CCW it, but I'm not allowed because I'm an unworthy second class citizen whose life is not considered important enough (California).

I've got an M&P 45 that I will sometimes carry. Though usually my LC9 comes along for the ride. Soon enough I'll purchase a 45 compact for carry and as a backup gun.

This is for RightCoastBiased, I have been looking at the LC9 as well, how do you like it? I know it is a perfect carry gun, any problems with it so far?

My M&P .45-FS and manufactured in 2007.

My large filler done right. :)

You don't need Apex. Work it right and one can have a great weapon. :D

My combat weapon of choice!

M&Ps are awesome, after all, they are a copy of the most successful
pistol in the world...Glock. ;)

I've had no major issues with my LC9 so far. I put 600-700 rounds through it in the first few weeks I had it and never had one issue. I carry it everyday, all day, until I get into bed. From there the M&P sits on the night stand.

I did take out the mag safety and remove the thumb safety. There is a really good youtube video on how to remove the mag safety. I took off the thumb safety because it got engaged a few times in my holster. I am not okay with that and do not want to practice swiping it off on a draw. But that is me.

The gun carries like a dream, even in a cheapo desantis holster (stealth pro). Once I start investing in some better holsters I am sure the results will be even better. I carry with the flush mounted mag and a extra mag with the pinky extension.

Overall it's a great gun.

From bottom to top: M&P45, M&P9 and my wife's M&P9C.

I love M&P pistols, they pretty much replaced my Glocks. If I designed a pistol it would end up being very similar to the M&P. I still plan to buy an M&P40 and M&P22, if the 22 is not picky about ammo.

I hope they come out with some 30 round magazines for the M&P9. :D

No pix-heck, it looks just like any other M&P!

I make very few impulse buys, but one o' the gun shop regulars that likes to buy high and sell low traded in a police special M&P he had about a month-didn't even look like it had been fired, so it followed me home.

357 SIG, night sights, 3 magazines, and it has the magazine safety.

I guess it wasn't that much of an impulse buy-didn't really have any plans to buy, but I had already done a lot of research on the M&P line.

I just picked up a M&P9 the other day. I've been shooting ones belonging to others, but couldn't put it off any longer when I saw them priced at $419.

Took it out yesterday to try out the different backstraps and their effect on followup shots and can make a few observations.

1. it really does come back on target faster than a Glock...compared to both a G17 and G19
2. the rear sight notch is just the right width...all I'll need to do is black out the rear dots
3. accuracy isn't bad at all
4. the most comfortable static grip isn't the best for recoil management
5. the trigger was very gritty and reset was horrendous...I can see an e-mail going out to Apex Tactical for their DCAK shortly

After the action work and finding a good holster, I'd seriously consider carrying it

4. the most comfortable static grip isn't the best for recoil management

I came to the same conclusion. The small grip feels really nice in the hand, but the recoil is noticeably more harsh with it. Especially with the .45. I stick with the medium grip, it has more padding behind it. The large grip is atrociously large IMO. Like Andre the Giant big.

The grit smooths out a good bit after about 500 rounds/dry fires. This can be sped up my polishing the striker block. The reset won't change without some new parts. It doesn't bother me any because I am used to letting the trigger completely reset for better or worst.

I also liked the small grip, but found that it caused me to squeeze more between shots and shooting low during quick strings of fire.

The large grip felt too large for one-handed control, but allowed the most consistent shots both two and one handed

I could live with the grit when shooting strong handed, but switching to weak hand brought out all it's weaknesses. There is a false trigger break (actually a hump in the travel) before the actual let-off...that is just unacceptable

I still plan to buy an M&P40 and M&P22, if the 22 is not picky about ammo.
Be aware that the M&P22 is a completely different pistol made to resemble the M&P externally only. Nothing is interchangeable...the M&P22 even uses a hammer

Yea the grittyness will go away, mine is completely gone. I have put around 1000 rounds through mine. The reset doesn't change obviously. It is not recommended to change or alter your trigger if you plan on using it as a carry weapon, doesn't look good in court. The police officer that was the instructor for my CCW class told me about this, he knows a lawyer that stress's this for him to teach in his classes. Take it or leave it, just my 2 cents.... smitty704 still love my M&P though yall!!!

As another attorney, and one who practiced criminal law at one point, I can tell you that in my experience(with all caveats being applicable here) it probably won't make a bit of difference.

Yeah, I know. I hear it's made by Umerex. I have a feeling I'm going to be sorely disappointed when I get a chance to handle/shoot one. Even so, I can't help but think how cool it would be to have a dedicated .22 M&P-ish gun. Wouldn't it be ironic if it had a better trigger?

Yeah, I always forget about those guys. They make some good stuff.

Do you think S&W will license two different companies to make a .22 copy, or will TS have to stick with a simple conversion kit? A conversion kit might be better anyway if no one will make an accurate clone.

I bought a new M&P9L almost two months ago. The new trigger was very gritty. After shooting S&W mfg reps guns the last two years I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. But like others say, once you shoot 500 and especially 1000 rounds it gets better. I liked the mfr rep M&P's much better (trigger and ergos) than my XDM9, I sold it for the M&P9L.

However, I just decided to wait for the Apex FSS & Trigger. I finished installing it two days ago and it feels fantastic. I set it up for the 3.0 lb trigger, I also did some polishing reading Burwell's M&P Trigger Job pdf I downloaded. I didn't polish the Apex USB though as it appeared to have been nice and smooth already.

Going to go shooting with some people this Tues night at the range. My friend is bringing his 1911 and I can't wait to compare the triggers. It's pretty damn close it seems to a 1911 trigger. Well 1911 $700-$1300 ones anyways that I've shot (I think stock triggers).

For those that don't know, Apex was going to have the FSS & Trigger be 4.0 lbs, but now they decided to have it 4.75-5.0 lbs.

From letter I got:

• Factory TRS and sear spring - 3.0 lbs
• Competition spring kit- 2 lbs (or less)
• Springs included in kit- 4.75-5.0 lbs

Can't wait to shoot it along with my Buckmark, which I also did a little trigger tweaking.

I have also read, from Randy's post that they might be working on a 22lr conversion for the M&P.

Our plan is to have new everything...or in a nutshell you buy the frame, and everything else is Apex.

There are several improvements I would like to implement that would require a new slide design ( Apex Tactical slide assembly ) and trigger bar/sear system/sear block. I am waiting for Smith to finalize their design changes that they are currently phasing in before I continue with my version. With any luck the first phase of this project will be shown and run at the 2012 Bianchi Cup. A 5" Pro and 9L that deliver 1.5" @ 50 yds. or better.

[( Skunk Pilots Notes: 2010 Bianchi was in Nov. so then in Nov. of 2012 ? )]

Smith is streamlining their production process. The newest frames for the 9/40 are using the same mold that is used for the thumb safety versions. This means they have a single frame which can be set up for thumb safeties or non TS simply by adding or removing the filler pads (or thumb safety levers) as seen on the 45 guns. They are also using the same sear blocks that the thumb safety guns are using.

The M&P is in for a radical change within the next 2 years.

Oh, and a .22 conversion...

(Are you able to expand on this point? Is S&W seriously planning a conversion slide kit that you can drop onto an existing M&P? )

Smith probably won't, but we plan on entering the 22 market...

My first few years of handgun purchasing started with three revolvers, a small semiauto and an even smaller semiauto. These items covered the essentials for pistol home and personal carry defense.

As time wore on and my gun buying affliction  continued I decided it was time for some full/compact semiautos. I haven't done the 19lls yet, and I considered Glocks, Springfield XDs, SiGs and HKs trying them at the range and the counter. They didn't do much for me ergonimically although I did like the following the best.

Cousin of M&P....Walther P99 AS in .40

P1010034.jpg

Prices came down earlier this year on the M&Ps so I bought a 9Pro and a .40 compact. I bought an APEX kit for the .40c and also got a Storm Lake barrel in 9mm, additional magazines and an XGrip extender just for the heck of it. Now I can run .40 or 9mm compact or full size mags of each out of the 3.5 inch 40c.

I will probably add a .45 before long.

Not a very good picture, but here is my M&P9 pro with the 4 inch barrel I got so it could fit into duty holsters as well.

This is for 19-3 Ben, thanks for the advice. Thats the only reason I have not yet purchased the Apex tigger set yet. Guess that will be next on my list. What kind of night sights do yall have, if any? I was looking at the meprolights, what do yall think?

I've got an M&P 9C that is my EDC and has over 7000 rounds through it. It has been a great pistol. I plan on starting to shoot IDPA in August or September and I plan on using my M&P for it. My wife has a M&P FS in 9mm. She really likes her M&P too.
