Last time I looked on GB (2-20-13) there were 145 listed for sale, It is not Kel-tec's fault if the distributors and then the dealers are hoarding them to keep the price un-naturally high.
If you look closely many, but not all, for sale on GB are "New old stock" produced 2-3 years ago according to their serial numbers. The real blame should go to those who pay the scalper prices. Kel-tec's current production and shipping of PMR 30's is 2500 per week. In the past certain distributors were getting the lions share of PMR's. In response to valid complaints, like those on this thread, Kel-tec is changing the way distributors receive them so that hopefully they become available through out the country. this is their statement; Guys, just wanted to make you all aware that we don't sell dealer or customer direct. We sell to most all major wholesalers/distributors. To help with shortage, we have implemented a rotation system to these wholesalers to insure that they all get shipments on a regular basis. This is one effort we are making to try to get product out to various parts of the country. Hopefully, this will help get a better saturation nationwide. Please note, various wholesalers sell to dealers based on different strategies. Some sell based on seniority, some on volume, etc. So, if your dealer just says, "well, we can't get it." Then we'd encourage you to shop around. We are pumping out 2500 guns per week on average and this will be increasing as 2013 expands. Just wanted to give you guys a good update and some information.
Hang in there those of you that want a PMR 30, I've bought 2 at below MSRP from a LGS. (one 2 years ago, and one a year ago) As for those like waiting on the RMR 30, don't hold your breath. Kel-tec's facebook page say's they will start production when someone gives them a million dollars for the required tooling. This thanks to the political climate. Let's not forget this has happened to George Kelgren before with the 1994 AWB bankrupting Grendel
