Not one answer? OK, I believe it's a Colt that was made cheaper than the other models. I'll guess it has no forward assist or dust cover.

It is what it is. Shoot it and see how well it does for you.

That is a relatively new model, there won't be a whole lot of people with very much experience with it.

Also, this sounds maybe like the kind of question that would fit better before purchase?

Seems to be Colt's answer to the S&W M&P sport. Remains to see if it will be as successful.

They don't stake the castle nut.

It lacks the "C" that festoons Colt rifles. Its labeled as a "Light Rifle" in that it lacks DC/FA. It looks like a Sportical with Colt markings.

You'd have been better off with a Sport. No skimping where it wasn't needed, and has been bathing in glowing reviews by firsthand owners since day one. It's cheaper, too.

Which baffles me.

Which baffles me.
It kinda makes me think two things:
1. They cut cost by skipping steps. Which is ridiculous, as the tag on the 69xx series isn't unobtainable, and a bit more gets you the 6920.

2. It's licensed and built by someone other than Colt CT.

Either isn't a good thing.

i'd never heard of them.
It's the budget-minded answer to other AR manufacturers offerings. While not a new idea, Colts jumped on the bandwagon (ridden by those who want a cheaper, entry level rifle).

But, my opinion, they're going about it wrong. It doesn't even "feel" Colt.

I got to handle one at the gun show over the weekend. It def does not feel like a Colt. It felt cheap.

I was looking at possibly purchasing one, but I think I will pass on it.

Thanks guys. From what i found searching it is made by i think anderson arms in kentucky then gets the colt stamp. What i was hoping for is first hand reViews why mine comes in. It can't be to bad for a $800 rifle.

Sapper771 what exactly felt cheap about it did it seen really lose bad finish cheap furniture what?

I was told today that Colt has discontinued the 6900 rifles due to customer complaints.

Apparently, in spite of the low MSRP buyers were disappointed that they weren't getting a genuine Colt Defense rifle made with mil-spec parts.

Interesting. Only recently did I get to handle a sample. Seemed pretty good to me.

I handled one as well. It did not really feel like Colt quality to me. My LGS had them for $969. At that price you might as well save a couple hundred more to get the 6920

Justice06rr what do you mean exactly by not feeling like colt quality? The 6920 i had was really accurate and would east any ammo with no problems, but the fit and And finish wasn't exactly the best.

After seeing this rifle at the same price as the Sport, I'm buying one.

As soon as I get it (Xmas has forced me to do layaway) I'm going to do my own review, and compare/contrast to the Sport.

As it stands, it has a floated barrel (why an M4 though?) and full auto BCG. Optic will be my P223 Nikon 3x9x40 for accuracy testing. Hope to get it done by the second MO deer youth season.
