J.C. Higgins Model 31 without sling....

I have just refurbished my Model 31--it didn't come with the retractable sling--but it has a notch in the stock where the sling would have come out, if it had one. I've seen some pics of some Model 31's with a brass plate or plug there. Unfortunately no one seems to have this part--Numrich doesn't even picture it! Anybody have one they can scan, photograph up close, give me dimensions of?

Thanks! That looks brass, right? How about the butt plate and pistol grip plate are they brown or black? The butt plate for my gun is missing, but the pistol grip plate is intact and appears to be black as coal. However, all the replacements from Numrich are milk-chocolate brown???? I can't tell if brown is original and mine has just aged that much or what?

Thanks 1k, I was looking for something that showed that metal plate/plug a little closer.....wonder if a machine shop could fashion me something like that?
