Reloading for 20+ years. Early on I bought some less expensive 'plated' bullets, and had some mushed which caused FTF issues. Especially in the 1911.
For a match, I always reload FMJ or JHP in a batch of at least 500 to 1000, and train with that ammo before a match. Only time I've had an issue...
I prefer the recoil/impulse of 147gr bullets. I use them almost exclusively in matches and practice.
I have a ton of reliability record with HST and GD's in my carry guns, but performance wise I'll be perfectly fine with Horn Critical Defense as well. Those three seems to have a strong track...
Really? Did not know that.
I've got 2k that's been ammo cans for almost 15 years ( I dont shoot my Saiga that much anymore )
They were fairly cheaper than Wolf or Silver Bear, so thought it was even lower quality/accurate ammo.
Prior to the Wuhan virus, you could get "LE Only" 50 round box of Federal HST's, or Speer Gold Dots for around $25-35 ( depending on caliber ) from multiple vendors. I know Hornady had previously cracked down on vendors selling "LE Only" ammo.
I simply fail to understand trying to save the...
Anyone have any experience, or seen any review of the Meprolight micro RDS adapter? Specifically, if it retains it's zero?
I have a Sig P226 Stainless Elite I would like to mount a Leopuld Delta Point Pro on. Yes, I know having the slide milled is the best technically, but I really do not want...
My father's 1965 S&W Model 29-2 6 1/2" barrel. The blueing ( minus holster wear ) is still nearly flawless.
It is a bit of a safe queen in that I only really fire .44 special in it.
As a comparison, I've shot a TON of Hornady steel match out of my AR's without any significant loss in accuracy. I bought a crap ton @ around $19/50 back in the day. Reloading wasn't worth it at that price.
The issue isn't the steel case really ( it may make the gun a lil dirtier, but not enough over a range session ):
It's that they normally have bimetal jackets which can wear the barrel more, especially throat erosion. If you get the barrel hot, it's faster.
However . . the money saved more...
I donate annually to most of the 2nd Amend groups ( but NOT the NRA ). But I have had a good year and want to target one for even more support.
Who do you think is actively doing the best to file new/strong cases to take advantage of the change of balance-of-power at SCOTUS? I'm mostly...
There is no one 'right' answer. You have to first decide your purpose.
For example, I can stay on target better with the JP Rifles low-mass carrier, even thou it is not 'mil spec'. But that is for recreation/competition/hunting.
I would choose not to spend my $$ in a state which legalized slavery, supported lynching or granted the 'right' to beat up women.
"policy disagreement" is not equatable to direct and flagrant violation of basic human rights.
They should first put forth a 'good faith' effort to repeal many of the current laws which infringe our rights.
Then, they should mandate that 'universal' be truely universal. That is, the maximum standard any state/city/county can impose. including NYC, Chicago, etc.
"Shall issue" to...
