Joe my BAR has '04 Serial# and says made in Belgium assembled in Portugal on it, but my Jap A-bolts are all tack drivers including my A-bolt 22 with prettier stock then my Medallion. No it's never been to the woods either, but it will do 3/4" or tad less at 100 yards at the range.
I have two in 257 Roberts and FN with Mauser action built in Belgium in '53 that has solid chrome vanadium steel barrel, glass bedded ebony tipped Cherry Wood Monty Carlo stock by the old Herter's company with Leupold 7.5 AO Varmint installed in '73 by me ($87 at the time) and Timney trigger...
I've never owned or actually known a person with a Browning rifle from 22short up to 30 caliber center-fire rifles that were not tack drivers, be the take down guns, lever, bolt or semi-auto.
My next Browning will be a BLR TD, but I'm told they didn't offer them this year. I hope it's not...
I better restate something about the Capitan. I thing it looks strange with tanget rear sight, and you have to guess at sight picture if target 40 yards or less which is a PIA for me. But the gun is a natural pointer at close range of 15 feet or less just due to ergonomics I guess. I will...
mf-dif I'm in MO not IL or we might have swapped out. First HP I ever run across at a price I can't refuse and I end up not really liking it like my FNH DBc Officers model. This one is scary accurate and feels like it's part of my hand when shooting.
So far no Capitan's posted and only about 4 tanget sight models posted. My '93 Capitan with Copper IMOP by Jeff Wagner of 6gunsally Custom Knivers & Pistol Grips. 6gunsally
Speaking of 1911, 10mm and Dan Wesson. Full sized custom one of a kind from Dan Wesson. Ser.#BTRZ001
Looking forward to my custom CBOB I have on order from Dan Wesson.
Just 67 and I carry new model SS Colt DE 10mm, but have a Dan Wesson CBOB 10mm in the pipeline. I also carry a Sig 238 mouse gun (380) quite a bit, needless to say I like my 1911's and have since I shot the first one 50+ years ago.
I have never seen or heard of a cylinder blowing out on a DW an sometimes wonder if they are just built so so strong...or if we owners of DW's are more sensible with our Dan's. Over the last 40 years of my reloading and shooting I've seen S&W's with cylinders or barrels blown out, also Rugers...
I had a squib for first time in one of my DW 22 last spring and removed barrel at the range and took pistol cleaning rod and got it out. I put the barrel back on and trucked on shooting.
Had one about a week later in my Mossberg 142A and pushed it out with cleaning rod, this time I tossed the...
I would think that the BB loads would be within max SAMII spec for 44 and if so yes. Remember these mfg's kind of watch pushing the limits for legal reasons. Or at least I would think so, but I am not sure as I don't buy factory ammo except for my 380 pocket gun and very little of that thanks to...
I had it proved several years ago when a DW forum member took measurements of some of his DW's, S&W and his Ruger Super Redhawks. The DW's had thicker cylinder walls and frames the the S&W or Ruger, the cylinder wall thickness on his S&W 629 was so much thinner then the other two he sold the...
Don't bet your life on it.
Blued M-44 6" and it has heavy 2lb SA trigger and 744 has 1.5lb SA trigger and both have factory stock actions. Got to get a 4" barrel for this gun. it has 6", 8" and 10" barrels.
Best production modern double action revolvers ever made. Dan Wesson. Here is my M-22 DW with 4" barrel installed.
Here's a picture of the DW 722 that is scary accurate with 8" barrel installed. Never could figure out why the scope looked bent in this in the photo.
I have since swithched...
22LR for rodent and plinking, 357 for range plinking, 10mm for when 45ACP isn't enough and 44 Magnum for everything else. :neener::neener:
Only thing stronger then Ruger Redhawk is Dan Wesson large frame in 44 Magnum or one of the super magnums with forged steel frames & cylinder. All that and...
