    California Vehicle Transportation/Carry

What does “very good chance” mean? Are you suggesting that California cops routinely ask motorists stopped for 11 mph over the speed limit whether they have any weapons in the car?

Taurus hit a Grand Slam with this gun.

Nice 92 I picked up an ammo can full of 92S Berettas when they were selling cheap at AIM. They do shoot sweet.

how did it start for you?

My nine-fingered uncle had a Red Ryder. I think I was 9. I let a few ordinary guns that would have been "treasures" to me today get away. But I managed to keep a few. And replace a few. I spent the day shooting yesterday.

    How to value reloading equipment.

CQ it sounds like your major issue is failure to operate the automatic powder drop correctly. Figure out what you are doing wrong with the automatic powder drop, and you’re right back in the saddle. No quitting. All you gotta do is pay closer attention.

    new Henry rifle

My collarbone is twitching at just the sight of that and imagining 45-70 principles of physics. Love the bling of shiny yellow metal. If you shoot it from benchrest, use a thick slip-on buttpad. Actually, use one no matter how you fire it. You’re on your own with how to deal with what it does...

Stopped Cleaning your Gun! I did - You Too?

I bought a basket of used P226 magazines. Each looked VERY GOOD externally. I finally got around to giving them a deep clean to put them in long term storage yesterday. Internally, each had rust starting on the floorplate and retention ears of the body. Springs were good, but a few...

Stopped Cleaning your Gun! I did - You Too?

The gun does not know that it is dirty. You must take action to prevent rust. Unless it is SO DIRTY that it degrades reliability, cleaning is customary, but not necessary. Don’t let them rust.

    S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

In that context, its a BULLSEYE target masterpiece. I shoot a little bit of formal BULLSEYE target (you know, the one-handed thing at 25 yards and 50 yards). I already have a couple or ten guns that are well-configured for that. I'm not sure I'd get a lot of use out of an eleventh one. Sure...

    S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

Are you buying it because its a GOOD DEAL? Or are you buying it because ITS SOMETHING YOU REALLY WANT? I will often happily over-pay for something unique if its something I REALLY WANT. "Unique" being defined as "They aren't making them anymore." You won't lose much money on no-lock Smith...

Is It Time To Stockpile Ammo?

Always maintain your wiggy stash. That's the stuff you will go to if things get wiggy. I own a bunch of guns and a bunch of calibers because I'm a gun nerd. Nothing wrong with that. I burn through my nerd ammo like a 6-year-old eating cupcakes at a birthday party. Just have at it, and don't...

Just venting a little bit and man I am not a fan of Lena Miculeck right now lol…ugh

I would sign up for a $250/wk SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE if it would make my wife genuinely interested, and participatory, in my firearms hobby. As it stands now, I get the major stink-eye and inquisition if I’m going shooting BOTH DAYS on the weekend. She would be welcome to join me if she had any...

    Ruger P-series high capacity magazines

I've never seen a RUGER factory mag for the P-series pistols in other than STANDARD (full grip length) and commie-capacity (some sort of restriction in the mag-body, or the mag-body sawed-off and fitted with a commie floorplate.

    Buckshot/Slug Choke

These stories are around. Always seem to relate to OLD guns. I sometimes wonder whether these stories aren't really an OBSTRUCTION in the bore. Probably SOME of them are. You're not gonna crack an un-obstructed Mossberg 500 barrel shooting a Foster slug through a full choke.

    Buckshot/Slug Choke

You can use whatever choke you want for buckshot or lead slugs. It won't hurt the gun. Bore diameter of 12 gauge is 0.729" Experiment with YOUR gun and see what works best for YOUR application.
