Primary Arms SLx 3X vs their MicroPrism version?

I ordered the bigger (older) one because there is no need for me to take a chance on an AR15. If it was a smaller gun or pistol, then I could scrutinize more. thanks everyone.

Opinions on the perfect nightstand handgun.

Depending on which parameters on that mental spreadsheet is the most important, I'd say one of these two: A revolver A full sized semi-auto handgun shooting subsonic 9mm or .45ACP with a silencer While there are many other choices, I haven't found anything that beats those two options.

Colion Noir - NY Judge does not allow the 2nd Amendment in the courtroom?

I feel bad for our brothers in places like upstate NY, southern Illinois, western Oregon, rural California, etc. Some beautiful country destroyed by the lawmakers in the big cities.

How do you rate AR Magazines & Followers?

I standardized on Lancer mags for a silly reason, but they work great. I was thinking of buying a .223 Vz.58 (which I never did) and they recommend the Lancer's for use with their Mag well adapter. Since Lancer's work fine in my PWS MK116, I just stuck with them.

how did it start for you?

Toy/cap guns as a kid. Watching action movies. Thought it would be a fun activity. I was a city boy so no hunting nor experience with guns. I bought my first SIG P229 in the 1990's and it's only grown from there. My hobby may have cost me my marriage but looking back that was a good thing...

Added another AK to the collection.

I hate to be that troll guy, but these posts make me glad I never got into AK-47's. During my initial research years ago, the only ones I'd like that were quality were at the same price level as a Vz.58, so I went that route instead. I now have 3 of them. 😊

Today, $400 is considered cheap for 'em.

I have a single Russian Izhevsk SKS from 1953. I paid $500 for it several years ago. I figured if I was going to buy one, it might as well be a good one. As of today, there are two for sale (that say Izhevsk anyway) on GB. A crappy one for $655 and a good one starting at $1675. Time will...

Handgun, Rifle, PCC, or Shotgun for Home Defense?

My answer to these are always the same. A 9mm with 147gr subsonic pills and a silencer if you can afford one. Unless you've been dumb enough to fire a ND in a small room with hard walls, you don't understand how disorienting that may be.

Ammunition sold in the USA per caliber?

    That's what I'm looking for. Thanks. I'm surprised .223 beats out 5.56

Ammunition sold in the USA per caliber?

Does anyone have data on the percentage of ammo sold in the USA by caliber? I don't need to know raw numbers, but slices of the pie chart. For instance, like 20% .223/556, 15% .308, 12% .30-06, etc (all made up). I'm more interested in rifle calibers, but handgun calibers is a good data...

I have no idea where people even shoot anymore.

If you can't afford a house on the land where you'd want to shoot, can you just...not build a house there? I assume you are willing to spend some money since you mentioned it, so is it possible to buy a plot of land somewhere you can shoot without it having to be your home base? Keep/buy a...

    Complete AR15 with 1:8 twist?

My sight of choice is backordered until May so it'll be forthcoming! I'll report here if the thread is still open. It looks like a quality unit. MSRP is $2099.95 but one of my local stores had it for $1550 before tax, so that made it a no brainer. The had a wall of high-end AR15's like...

Primary Arms SLx 3X vs their MicroPrism version?

For a difference of $30, I'm trying to figure out why anyone would still buy the bigger version when the Micro prism is available. Is there a difference in eye relief? Glass quality? https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-slx-3x32mm-gen-iii-prism-scope-with-acss-556-cqb-m2-reticle...

    Complete AR15 with 1:8 twist?

Cursory reviews of those SS barrels on the web don't get a lot of praise. I'm still looking...but keeping BCM in my back pocket. I know nothing on how to build an AR15 and while I'm sure I could learn, I'd rather just buy one. I'm not an AR15 kind of person, but want to get one...

    Complete AR15 with 1:8 twist?

So all my "fun" ammo is 55gr. By most reports (and I do NOT want to debate this), most 1:7 barrels are fine with 55gr pills, BUT NOT ALL of them. So why take the chance? I have zero interest in heavy .223 bullets. This is for fun; fun ammo is cheap; cheap ammo is 55gr.
