Primary Arms SLx 3X vs their MicroPrism version?

Haven't messed w the 3X.

Bud had the 5X, said he should got the 3X.

I had a 1X Micro and for a red dot replacment (esp if one has astigmatism) it filled that role fine.
But for hunting or stuff over 100 yds I'd like to try a 3X

If real estate atop your rig is limited, and weight a consideration,
a prism might be preferable over a LPVO.

I have no idea. The micro is better in every way, especially weight. The older tech prisms are way too heavy for what they do.

How are you supposed to keep dust, rain, and other gunk off the lenses of that small one? That's my biggest thought and concern. There's a reason virtually every LPVO includes flip lens caps. The lack of easy covering is a pretty big negative in my book.

The small one doesn't list the objective size, which is needed to calculate the size of the exit pupil. It looks slightly smaller. That means worse exit pupil and eye box. Potentially worse low-light performance. This paragraph could all be wrong though.

One would need to look through both to get a true feel. If the image is superior on the bigger one, then that could easily offset the extra weight.

I ordered the bigger (older) one because there is no need for me to take a chance on an AR15. If it was a smaller gun or pistol, then I could scrutinize more. thanks everyone.
