As far as being able to get away, that's the most obvious option, especially considering your car is probably going to outrun any bad guy on foot. I've been trained as a delivery driver to leave at least four feet of road between the car's tire in front of you and the top of your hood. It's a...
Caliber snobs. Really, what bad guy will say "You shot me with the wrong damn caliber" after you've shot him.
And of course, anyone who puts $2,000 worth of stuff on a $600 AR.
I have a similar dilemma. As much as I'd love to buy more guns, that would require me to buy at least so much ammo for it (typically, I'm not satisfied until I have at least two cases of the appropriate caliber.) I'm limited by space, and of course, because I'm broke and in college, making $7.50...
File a report if you even remotely think the bad guy is being serious. When push comes to shove and if you have to shoot in self defence, having a report already out on the guy documenting his threats will go a long way.
...about 50% off their panic-highs). I picked up a case of 8mm for a hundred dollars (same price at AIM just up the road).
I may pull some more money out and head up to Dayton next week anyway, even if I do have everything I currently need right now. There's always stuff I'd *like* to have... :D
Hi all:
Due to high prices (esp. for ammo) at the Lexington gun shows, I'll now be heading up to the Bill Goodman gun shows, instead.
I'm going to be at the next one this weekend, probably on Saturday. If anyone's going to be there, it's at the Sharonville Convention Center. $7 admission, and...
Not in almost three months now. Can't find any ammo, and when I do, it's still too expensive. I'm just going to sit on what I have until the situation improves.
If I'm heading for the hills, I'd like to be going for an AK/AR (probably AK at the moment) and one of those .22 rifles that break down into pieces.
I don't know what people have against the .22. You can carry enough with you (read: a brick) to last you a long time.
And for all those that...
I would love to be as constructive as possible, but given the troubles that would entail from trying to fly (out of anywhere for that matter, but especially Atlanta), it isn't worth it.
Drive.
If your destination is less than 10-12 hours away by car, odds are you'd get there sooner anyway than...
I've only read the first page or so, so I may have entirely missed the boat here, but:
If you're concerned about people approaching from the house on the outside, then hardening the wall with plywood would not only be impractical but probably ineffective.
It would seem so much more...
I'm surprised by the number of people who would want to get involved.
The last thing I would want is to get involved, then have to shoot five or six idiots in self defense. The DA would have a field day with that case, regardless of the law, it would still be a long and costly legal battle...
I showed up early - for some reason power was out to half of the building. It came on after a short while, though.
I scored a decent price on a Mauser but wasn't able to find any ammo. The prices are simply ridiculous. I refuse to pay $9 for a box of 20 Romanian surplus 8x57. Now I've got an...
Hi all:
I'm going to the next Kenny Woods show in Lexington the weekend of the 19th and 20th. Just putting this out there to see if anyone else will be going this weekend. It's my first gun show since June, I'm going to see if some of the panic, especially with regards to ammo, has subsided...
Not quite. But I'll be like "Yeah, I'll put her to work". or something like that.
Then again, I could probably get away with 'AK-47' on campus, since to many idiot anti's it's more likely to refer to marijuana than to anything else.
I'll invent names to use when in public places, especially around the college campuses full of idiot anti's. Such as Anna Kournikova to refer to an AK. But otherwise I don't bother.
If you're scared of the magazines being banned completely along with the guns, then the easy answer is "as many as possible". I have about 15 myself, of a wide variety - including Colt 20 rounders, Pmags, but mostly aluminum GI-style mags. Those seem to be the best all around.
I'd suggest...
...years ago they stopped selling guns (likely due to its semi-proximity to several large housing projects in Covington). Then a couple months ago *all* of the ammo was hidden out of sight, and had to be asked for.
More recently, some of the ammo is back on display shelves instead of behind...
So I was wondering, what is your definition of an anti?
Someone who sees me as someone who should be controlled and trained rather than as a citizen capable of making responsible choices.
Must someone hate guns to be anti or can they be a gun lover?
An anti is someone who thinks along the lines...
