    Ankle IFAK advice

Oooh, I like that! Wish I could get away with wearing one at work, but sadly, no. I might add a cross patch to it, just so someone knows there are FA supplies inside in case Im the one in need of aid. My SIL keeps his fancy NARCAT 3 minutes away in his car and a cheap Amazon chinesium knockoff...

    Ankle IFAK advice

If I were still riding, I might consider an ankle kit, but it only helps if Im conscious enough to use it, or a buddy/ bystander knows its there. Otherwise, ya, Im too likely to leave an ankle kit at home where its useless. I have a pretty decent IFAK in my bug-out bag and its never far from...

What was once lost is now found. :)

We had a State Trooper a few years back who left her gun belt hanging in the ladies room at a rest stop. It was gone by the time she realized it and went back to look, so she cooked up a shady story about it being stolen. She was terminated when they realized she had filed a false report- turns...

    Bargain Gun Series: CZ P-10F

I keep eyeing the P10C, but between the G19, G43X, and Beretta APX carry, I don't know that it has a defined place in my carry rotation. Im sure its a nice pew-pew, though. CZ don't make junk.

    Fantastic Beretta!

    Naval Rifles

My buddy was a Gunner's Mate on the White Plains in the '80s. As the best marksman on the crew, he drew the unenviable task of shark watch whenever there was an overboard incident. As he explained it, the M14 was 50% for the shark and 50% for the swimmer, depending on who got to who first. 😱

    Naval Rifles

I still kick myself for not buying the one and only Type-1 Ive ever seen in the flesh. It was a gorgeous, probably unissued, Beretta-produced example complete with sIing and bayonet. The shop only wanted $500, but back in 2015 that seemed like a lot for either an Arisaka, a Carcano, or the love...

Would you have taken the chance? (GB purchase)

Well, since he stated more pics on request, I would withhold pay until I get them. Request to see a very specific spot, like the bottom of the grip and shroud, or a picture of the gun with an object in the shot, like a key or pencil- something he'd have a hard time copying off the internet. If...

    Unknown 22 LR Magazine

Never understood those. Why make a rimfire M16 lookalike that looks NOTHING like an M16, lol. Armi Jager did a much better job- I had one and it was actually a pretty nice gun. Although, I will say Armscorp's AK model looked halfway genuine-

    Colt Trooper MKIII opinions?

There was no Mk1 or 2, the originals were just "Trooper," then they went to Mk3, and finally Mk5 before the line morphed into the King Cobra. Yes, that's a very good price for any clean, mechanically sound Trooper.

    Naval Rifles

It means the barrel is 45 times as long as the bore diameter. So a 5"/45 would have a barrel 225" long. This convention applies to all military cannon, not just the naval ones- generally anything with a bore greater than 20mm.

    We all have favorites

Long before that. Its an I-frame Hand Ejector, you can tell by how relatively huge the trigger guard is.

    Grail gun happiness

The smallbore Redhawk was my grail gun too. Its crazy heavy, none too accurate, and totally impractical, but I love it.

I have others that are rarer, more valuable, or more accurate, but the 686 is still my favorite.

    ammo interchangeability

I've usually heard them called "click-clacks" thanks to the unique way they hold the bolt open before the trigger resets. I always thought the gills were to allow air-cooling while the bolt is open, though why you would need it with a .22, I dunno- lol. Their sear system is kinda sketchy and...
