Pachmayr Gripper helps. Still a jolt down the arm though. Def want to pad your elbow on the bench LOL Haven't shot one in .30-30 so dunno what that's like. My arthritis has been annoying the last couple weeks. See if I can pound it away this weekend ;)

what won't you won't shoot at (and why)

Toss my non biodegradable targets in the trash when done. Heck take and break down my cardboard and put in trash ( nothing left at backstop, takes up less space in can ). People often look at me funny for doing so.

    Thompson Center Arms SOLD

Am running the 200gr Hornady factory ammo. Yrs ago tried old Remington 150gr ( diff TC ). My 760 loves the Hornady so thats what I stock. Havent shot a deer w 35 rem handgun yet. Super 14 may not have enough V to get the 200grainers to expand. Unless I get lucky and a big buck volunteers as...

    Thompson Center Arms SOLD

My first Contender was not an "Easy open". All models since have been. Used my dad's back when I started IHMSA .22 My Super 16 in .35 rem ran a G2 forend (as a rifle). It looked silly but shot great. Issue there was too light up front. Filled forend hollows w epoxy and 8 shot and it made offhand...

    Thompson Center Arms SOLD

BTW, I'm not an Encore fan....rifle, handgun or MZ. They never felt good to me. Not a fan of the G2 Contender either. Don't care for the "kit" concept of one frame and mult bbls. Rather have a rig set up, and if needing something different, buy an additional rig. Don't even like switching bbls...

    Thompson Center Arms SOLD

While folks may have their faves, its a business brought back from the dead. Id expect them to do their prev best seller/unique to company model first. Read : Encore But we will just have to wait and see. New product idea? Maybe in a single shot/switch barrel ......but I never cared for the...

    Thompson Center Arms SOLD

Have seen folks struggle w Contenders. There may be a knack to it, I dunno. Find them easy, always have. Used to have strong hands, fingers, and may have developed some technique. Have RA these days and its annoying, but working a Contender is still no problem. Recoil of the 35 rem though does...
