Thompson Center Arms SOLD

All my muzzleloader deer have been taken with T/C rifles; a Renegade and a Hawken. Love 'em! Hope the company can continue to give shooters unique choices.

Nice, going back to previous owner.

And T/C remains in the USA. 👍 https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/former-owner-purchases-thompson-center-from-sw/

“Thompson/Center is back, once again family owned, and will continue to be made in the USA while restoring the core values of innovation, customer focus and the lifetime guarantee that has traditionally defined this brand ...”
In fact, Ritz is adamant about the importance of manufacturing T/C products in the United States.
“Now more than ever it’s imperative we keep manufacturing at home ... From job creation to national pride, made here is our commitment.”

I had a Super 14 for IHMSA. I started out with a .357 Herrett but it kicked like a SOB, probably about like your .35 Rem, so I swapped the barrel for a .30-30. Not as much recoil, no case forming, common bullets.

Am running the 200gr Hornady factory ammo.
Yrs ago tried old Remington 150gr ( diff TC ).

My 760 loves the Hornady so thats what I stock.
Havent shot a deer w 35 rem handgun yet.

Super 14 may not have enough V to get the 200grainers to expand.
Unless I get lucky and a big buck volunteers as test medium.

LOL

I'll give the new ownership a couple months to settle in before I ask if they're gonna honor the lifetime warranty of the TC Classics I bought when they owned it the first time.

I just want a TC stock made for a scope.

A long as you are OK with a thumb hole stock Haus Of Arms has a wide selection. I have the walnut version and really like it. It's perfect for a scope IMO. Strange thing is I have an Encore and the standard factory stock works great with a scope. SSK did Marty kind of dirty with the Contender frame they are producing.

Recoil of the 35 rem though does take its toll, way sooner than before.
THAT was the 1st and Only Contender I ever fired. It was more than enough, and I'm not a recoilpuzzy. o_O

How does a 30-30 compare?

Also, I'm happy to see TC getting a transfusion and revived.

Offer a .327FM and I’m in. Otherwise I wish them luck and will stick to picking up the odd TC BP rifle every now and then.

Pachmayr Gripper helps. Still a jolt down the arm though.
Def want to pad your elbow on the bench LOL

Haven't shot one in .30-30 so dunno what that's like.

My arthritis has been annoying the last couple weeks.
See if I can pound it away this weekend ;)

Bullberry Barrels makes a .327 barrel, in true .308 for the Contender.

I have several of their barrels including a .357 max, 45-70, 6.5 Swedish, 2 in 7.62 Tokarev a pistol and a carbine all on Encore frames, (5 frames total)
All great barrels. None in .327, but have been considering it.

....isn't he the same T.V. Hunting Show personality that has been charged multiple times over the years with poaching in multiple states?
Game Trails fined $50,000 in illegal deer harvest - https://www.herald-dispatch.com/new...cle_5f61f0fc-4169-51d4-8927-6bbbb8839a12.html

"FRANKFORT, Ky. — A Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources deer biologist who noticed discrepancies while analyzing 2006 hunter deer harvest data triggered an 18-month long state and federal law enforcement investigation that produced one of the largest wildlife penalties in state history last month in United States District Court, Owensboro.
Game Trails, a more than 12,000-acre Limited Liability Corporation commercial hunting preserve in Union and Crittenden counties, controlled by sole proprietor owner and then Thompson/Center Arms President and CEO Gregg Ritz, and its site manager, William Dirk McTavish, Jr., 43, of Paducah, paid $50,000 in fines after pleading guilty to numerous misdemeanor violations of the Lacey Act of taking wildlife unlawfully, and for making false statements to Kentucky officers about the takings and interstate transporting of wildlife."

I believe he was also charged in Tennessee and Missouri for game violations. The latest was for shooting a Trophy deer over bait and leaving the meat to rot(Wanton Waste). From what the local Warden tells me, for every violation a poacher gets caught, they get away with at least a dozen others.

Eh, kill big deer and.....people say all kinds of stuff.
Dunno the details and dont care.
This is about a company's rebirth

For the original Contender?
I just made a Kydex cheepiece for the factory Rynite stock, cheap and worked great.
Factory Rynite stocks were made by Choate, dunno if still available.
Pro hunter. Shaped well for open sights but thin and curves in the right places. Someday an adjustable cheek rest will come out . Now that TC is coming out of hibernation.
Good for S&W holding it.

Good news for sure but we'll see what comes of it in the next year or so. I was never a big Thompson fan. The things did not do anything all the other firearms I had already did well. Still they might just pull a rabbit outta a hat now.

Would like to buy some more barrels for my encore and not have to pay 5-600 for a custom. Want a 357 mag bad!
SSK sold me a 6mm ARC 20 inch. Under 400. It's fine , came with scope rail mounted. Unimpressive cartridge from a rifle but when I can get a pistol frame it's the first barrel I want.
