I'm not familiar with Zero bullets, but if you are loading 158 gr XTP I would start with 13.5gr of Accurate #9 for 357 magnum with a SPP. this works very well in my 2.75" Ruger Security Six.
My issue with mixed 9x19 brass is with case wall thickness and neck retention, I can load 9x19 with True Blue and have a ES of 9 fps loading the same head stamp. That ES number goes up to 30 fps with mixed brass.
Some maybe too close to call. Then there is lot variance and testing variance. H-110 and W-296 along with W-231 and HP-38 are said to be the same, even by Hodgdon but load data treats these as separate powders:cuss:Were these powders always the same or did something change?
What came out of the ground will eventually find it's way back there, back from where it came from more or less.
What concerns me is the nutrients in our food is becoming more depleted.
I have trimmed 9x19 mm to load for 9x18 Mak. Not because I'm poor but because I'm cheap, and the brass was in hand. I was short of 44 spl cases so I trimmed down 50 ct of 44 mag. I will say all of this was a pita.
Here is my story with Accurate #9. I followed X reloading data for #9 in .357 mag. with 158gr jhp with standard primers the charge was around 12.2gr which gave poor accuracy stuck cases and cratered primers. I then tried Accurate's data for the same jhp bullet weight and primer. 13.6-13.8gr gave...
My thoughts on the Rossi 720 is that is in the mass equal to a S&W K frame, where as a S&W 696 is a L frame. If I were reloading for a 720 I would stay with in load data for a Charter Arms revolver. JMO
For a S&W 696 I mostly load 200-215gr lead, coated and jacketed. For mild target loads I use W-231, for warmer loads I use WSF. I tried Unique but didn't care for it.
I can see how barrel harmonics effect POI, but what is the best way to control and manipulate these vibrations and which is most effective and repeatable? Is it a tuner brake or a chunk of rubber? I don't know but I have a feeling I'm about to find out, I will start with the rubber and go from...
