in context, you're dropping the mag and doing a press check or racking the slide

    Mare's leg type guns- why?

If there was some kind of telescoping stock or something to get a decent LOP. but, for the lenght, one of the folding PPCs availalbe probably would work better. Looks cool though, never shot one like he is wearing in that photo though, so - maybe it is the coolest rang toy ever, what do I know?

    10-5 trigger stuck in frame

excellet idea to try to get underneath it. skipping notches? is it out of time, or the stop sticks and doesn't pop back up? Just cleaning it migth fix a sticky cylinder stop.

    Gravity Chambering

I was going over an old .22 rifle. I had taken the tube magazine apart and put it back together Pulled out the springs, follow, just apart, cleaned, put back together. I had those orange snap caps, cause I was just testing it, testing the action, mag tube, ejection, all of it. Just going...

Carry Options... Is your gun "shootable" under stress?

I prefer the very intentional action needed to discharge a revolver in double action. Under stress, I just think I'm less likely to mess it up somehow, just cause you have to mean it, but all you need to do is point it, and very intentionally pull the double action trigger, very simple.

    Beretta 71, Finally!

I don't really collect old pistols, but if I did it would be S&W Revolvers, and Beretta Semi Autos. Well, I have one of each that I shoot, and not often enough.

    other than cost, not really

    Vibrating case cleaner media.

ugh, sounds bad. I use RCBS case lube and basically just rinse it off in the sink with hot water. I'm always surprised how much media and gunk comes out of them too. Not saying to do it this way, just sharing what I've landed on for this step for now. I have no wax or polish on the cases so...

    A spare reload if needed

I carry a spare mag or speed strip, and leave a full box in the back of my auto, just becuase.

    A spare reload if needed

this is my understanding as well, but if you have used the magazine and it is reliable, the chances of it all of a sudden becoming defective seem small, but if I carry I always carry a reload, just because a mag or a speed strip is pretty easy to carry.

picking up brass, getting older, maybe wiser?

just have the RO pick it up for you and load the basket into your truck. hey, dare to dream right.

    Vibrating case cleaner media.

I like to wash the case lube off just with hot soapy water and dish soap. Works for me, just make sure the cases dry before loading. You can still use the dry tumbler as a final step with a little wax or whatever in the media to prevent tarnishing, but for whatever reason I don't like gumming...

    help picking a press

I do sets of 200-300 rounds at a time. I use an old single stage. I have a Turret press on my bench, but never got around to setting it up. It would take me longer to set up the new press and learn how to use it and maintain it, that it takes to just load the rounds, so - maybe if I did more...

    LCRX 3 inch 38 - do you-?

I went with the Taurus 3", I carry SJSP. Just regular .38 Special, not Plus P. not going to expand as much as hollow point, not going to penetrate as well as cast, so - I'll take it as a happy medium. I carry hiking so, there is the off chance I could run up against a black bear or large cat...

all good things come to an end

grease, wax paper, and a freezer bag. grease the gun, put in wax paper, folded taped closed, put dessidant packs in the freezer bag, and zip up the bag with everything inside. Check the dessicant packs every year or so, but if they are in an air tight plastic container, probably no need to.put...

    .22 Rifle Accuracy

5 MOA at 100 Yards with .22 LR Thunderbolt sounds really good to me. Other ammo will probably outperform this. The Thunderbolt is dirty as well and will gum up and action much faster than other ammo. I only use it in manual actions, mostly revolvers.

    Infirmities? Auto vs. Revolver

maybe. never compared side by side like you did here. just antother option. I'd also be concerned with injured or arthritic hands, if I short stroked the slide and a round noses up, and it jams, then I'd have a whole other issue to solve, with injured or arthritic hands, and with revolver all...

    Loading 5 in a revolver

page 8 or 9, maybe referenced on other pages too, but yea - it is just a general carry recommendation they make for all their revolvers.

    Considering a new action

I think I would do more testing before making any investment or decision. I'd want to shoot the reloads in another or couple more rifles. and maybe shoot some factory rounds out of the same rifle, or play with different jumps for the reloads. Closer is usually better, but not an exact...

    Help me diagnose an issue

It isn't that crazy to pop the cylinder off and clean the parts and oil them. Mine was binding once in a while new, and made like kind of a clicking sound when I spun the cylinder with it released and it was not really free spinning, you could tell something was off. Cleaning it did clear it...
