Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

Maybe Savage will get back in the lever action game. They got into 1911s.

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

All Winchesters? I know they moved production to Japan but don't know when they did that.

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

I read Rossi either needs work out of the box or would benefit greatly from work out of the box. I don't know if that is true or not.

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

I heard good things about the new Marlins. They are pricey, however. Maybe Mossberg should bring their lever action back and also add a .357 and .44 mag versions. I'm guessing they would be cheaper than the Marlins. Even if they aren't as good as the new Marlins I think they would still sell to...

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

These posts strike a chord. I'm guessing they are correct.

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

    That's just recently, I believe.

    Yes, and .44 magnum.

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

In the fairly recent past, Mossberg had a lever action .30-30. Why was it discontinued?

Street reputation of various handgun loads?

@golden Thanks. I have a relative who is retired from the NYPD in the 1980s. They were using standard pressure semi-wadcutters at the time. IIRC, 158gr at 755 f.p.s. through the Model 10. I guess they experimented with other ammo for the .38. I guess it was after the semi-wadcutter era. They...

Street reputation of various handgun loads?

Presumably the fmj referred to above are round nose ones. There are flat nose bullets as well. In the history of hollow points, I have to wonder if a person would have been better off with the flat nose rather than a hollow point many times. Many hollow points have not penetrated as far in live...

Street reputation of various handgun loads?

    No, rather stopping a threat.

Street reputation of various handgun loads?

There is ballistic gel everyone is familiar with. For this thread, I'd like to keep gel out of the discussion. What is the street reputation of particular loads using common handgun calibers like 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .38 Special, and .357 magnum? What are loads that did well in which...

9mm through longer than typical pistol barrels?

I guess a person needs to apply for permission to acquire a 9mm carbine with a barrel in the 9-12" range mentioned above.

Should S&W bring back 3rd gen pistols?

Agreed about the Bren Ten. I don't know why CZ canceled the CZ 75 in .40. It had weight behind it to soak up recoil. I guess is just wasn't selling.

9mm through longer than typical pistol barrels?

Yes, it depends on the powder being used. I'm guessing manufacturers use fast burning powders for 9mm due to most of it being fired through pistols.

9mm through longer than typical pistol barrels?

There are the PCCs out there that shoot 9mm. I think they typically have 16" barrels. Does a 16" barrel provide more velocity for the 9mm cartridge than a shorter barrel? What is the best barrel length for the highest 9mm velocity? Assume factory loaded ammo.

    Ammo purchases by gov agency?

I wonder if they practice with the same ammo they carry. That would be mostly wasteful.

Should S&W bring back 3rd gen pistols?

Ironically, the PX4 gets good reviews. Maybe it would sell if they made one with an alloy frame. And maybe make a subtle change or two to the style. Those PX4s supposedly have lower recoil than many of their competitors. The action is much different.

    Ammo purchases by gov agency?

There's a video stating the irs bought 5 million rounds of ammo. What kind of pistol ammo did they buy?
